What
do you collect?I collect magazines.
Ernest, 28
Washington, DC
I've always tended to accumulate books and I
seem to be amassing a collection websites in the same spirit. My study window is the home
for a parliament of owls: crystal, bronze, ceramic, wax and wood. I have a penchant for
acquiring fascinating facts--although my memory for trivia isn't what it was. I also have
far more dust bunnies (aka slut's wool, the only wool that a slut will spin) than a good
woman should harbor.
Jill, 59
Saylorsburg, PA
Craft supplies. rubber stamps, markers,
pretty paper, cross-stitch patterns. At some point I need to collect the space and time to
enjoy using them.
Cindy, 41
Lowell, MA
Books... lots of books. I started keeping a
list of the ones I read in full, but I have this weird bizarre fetish about OWNING books.
I can't stand libraries. They're a tease. What, give me a book and then make me give it
back??? I only use the library if I need a journal article or to research something I know
I'll never need later. I think I've put the CEOs at amazon.com's first 3 children through
college at this point... Hmm.. what else. CDs, gargoyles, candles, rocks (I have several
from all over the world), Queen Amidala (Star Wars!) merchandise, Waterhouse prints,
Nitemare B4 Xmas toys, Powerpuff girls toys, and bat toys. I'm a packrat. My mother hates
it so much... it's probably the main reason I can never live at home again.
Amy, 23
Baton Rouge, LA
Anything with butterflies on it,
(especially real wings), dead bugs ( I can't stand to
kill them so I collect the ones that're already dead.), Little Golden Books (I have over
400!), vintage tins, amusing quotes.
kimberfreed, 31
These little onyx animal figures, and
certain Sailor Moon stuff, and probably a lot of other stuff I'm not thinking of.
Karen, 20
Marshelltown/Ames, IA
Nothing anymore. In times past have
collected coins, stamps, rabbit figurines, fans (the hand folding kind). However, I do
come from a wildly collecting family and have an aunt
that collects tons of green depression glass, glass paperweights, ceramic shoes, salt and
pepper shakers and some mine nick nack items. She collects so much, she has added
additions onto her hours four times.
Felicia, 34
Somerville, MA
Cherished Teddies and Books are the items I
actively collect, I also seem to "aquire" stuffed bears and many other
nick-nacks (I suppose I'm a bit of a hoarder really)
Nikki, 26
Kirkham ENGLAND
I have always collected sea shells. I have
been going to the shore my whole life and it started as a child...now I live there. But
now my passion is going to new places (beaches) and finding shells there. I only keep the
most important, pretty, or unusual ones. Hopefully one day I will have some place to
display them so they don't have to sit in their boxes on old, dusty
Tracy, 24
Ocean City, NJ
I collect scented soaps, candles, lotions,
shower gels, and scents. I also collect star wars items: figurines, lunch boxes,
posters, ships, but only from the original trilogy (4, 5 & 6). I also like blankets,
science fiction books, and rings.

Anthony, 24
Baton Rouge, LA
I collect keychains,
and one could possibly say I collect CDs (although I
don't have a huge collection or anything).
Elizabeth, 18
Rochester, MN
In the past I have collected compact discs,
or so it seemed. I amassed over 600 CDs in a little over 2 years. I do love music. I
have collected some Beatles collector plates as well.
Kevin, 32
Sugar Hill, GA
I used to collect dolls. But, lately I have
begun a new collection. So far it is just a weekend collecting hobby (one not by choice),
and it's stray teenagers. They arrive on Friday evenings to "chill" with my
kids. And, by Sunday they have gone. Along with..... my groceries and patience!
Pamela, 38

Dust bunnies under the furniture for the

Laura, 35
Lowell, MA
CD's with a passion (if you can call
that collecting). I buy a new one whenever I have the
chance.
Nicole
Elk Grove, CA
I like to quilt and I collect fabric. I will
admit that I am a fabric a holic. Fellow quilters will understand the need to buy and
store a variety of fabrics cause you just don't know what you'll need someday
