Are you planning a garden this year?

No, I kill things too easily

Lindsay, 21
Harrisonburg,
VA

I'm always planning gardens, but realistically I'll be planting a few perennials and a trio of patio tomatoes. I'm also grimly resigned to repairing the damage after last summer's drought and last winter's browsing deer.

I try to plant a small garden every year. This year will probably have mixed salad greens, tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, basil, plenty of flowers, and a wide variety of herbs. Most of my garden is planted in containers.

I always have a wonderful and lush flower garden. I have pernniels and put in lots of annuals. The beds are all raked out. I just put in pansies. I put some seeds in the soil on a 75 degree warm Saturday, telling my husband, Oh, I don't think we will have another frost. Only to wake up on Sunday morning with 3 inches on snow on my lawn. I know the rule is plant outside after Mother's Day but …

No, alas. I live in an apartment complex and there is no room for bright and shiny things. But I *do* have a plant at my office... unfortunately, I think it died over spring break (and the subsequent weeks afterwards). I really have a black thumb. I once killed an aloe vera plant, and I heard it's high near impossible to kill one of those.

No. No garden for me. My balcony has limited space! And today, a squirrel came and slept on my balcony. It left about three clumps of shit as a present before leaving.

No, although I would really like to.

No space to accommodate such plans environmentally or mentally.

I'm trying to plan one. My residence situation is a house-with-yard so I figured it would be nice. I've already started some indoor plants; hot peppers, tomatoes and spices.

I hope to start one next year when I'm on my own with my new husband, but for right now I don't.

Although I live in a dorm I still plan to have a garden. I have a bonsai tree that lives on my windowsill. People on my hall are also planning to have a small herb garden in our kitchen to use in our cooking.

I'm not, but my wife loves to work out in the yard, so she will probably have flowers plant all over.

No - and all my house plants are plastic.    I bought a "pet plant" for my office and every day I see it I have to remind  myself it's not plastic and water it. Gardens are not for me! I like the idea though

No, but I am contemplating a reunion tour.
