Do you vote?I sure do. Always have
and always plan to.
Jaden, 21
Brampton, Ontario CANADA
Yes. I have voted in every
presidential election since I turned elegible. Local
races are probably even more important since they deal with issues very close to
where you live. I believe every vote counts. There are people in other countries that
would die for the right to have a say in the leadership of their land, and the people in
the US just take the right to vote for granted.
GET OUT AND VOTE! IT'S YOUR RIGHT!
Kevin, 33
Sugar Hill, GA
I only vote for the big things, and only if
I am informed on the issue at hand.
Kate, 19
Bellingham, WA
I'm 15, so no.
Shanna, 15

Not until I'm Eighteen! *grin*
Aurora, 17

I was taught not to, my father believing
that voting for man is putting your trust in man and not God. Plus he was extremely
cynical so even after I left the church the cynicism stayed with me (no, really). So I
have never done so yet, I don't know enough about the local scene or which local scene
I'll be a part of, but for the presidency I'll be writing in Ventura.

Yup, even in the primaries, because so many
people died for every citizen's right to vote, the least I can do is participate in the
process.
Ernest, 29
Washington, DC
You know, so many people have fought hard in
my history's past to have allow myself and all American's to vote that not to do so would
simply negate their struggles. So many people in the world today to even have this very
simple say in their political process.
So, I try my darndest to vote even during
the primaries. I don't feel very empowered about it, but at least I feel I have the right
to complain about government since I did my part to vote. Frankly, I am much more for the
"political" work we do in our every day lives and how we work and affect people
that way.
Felicia, 34
Somerville, MA
Always. I missed a local election in
1998 because I'd moved and while I thought I'd reregistered, it wasn't processed.
Jane, 60
West Linn, OR
There's nobody I really want in
office, so no.
Karen, 20
Marshelltown/Ames, IA
Sometimes, if I have a definate opinion on
the matter. As far a president goes, no matter who we get in there, there will be
problems. It's basically just choosing which set of problems you'd like to have. There's
only so much power a president has, contrary to popular belief.
Megan, 24
Chicago, IL
Um......Not really. I know that is horrible
but time just passes and I continue to be lame in this regard.
Tina, 31
Medford, MA
Yes, but the hope that I'm putting the
better guy in office is usually secondary, because it's a very weak hope. I vote mainly
because it's nice to get out and mingle with more of the people in my neighborhood, talk
and commiserate and sound off about something.... The people in Bowie are usually pretty
nice. |
