What
are you compulsive about?I guess it would hafta be the same routine every morning and
I can't skip a step or I'll get messed up. That's the only thing I can think of.
Stephanie, 25

I feel compelled to tidy loose ends with any
sort of paperwork.

Little things. Like when I leave my
job at the end of the day, I line everything up on my desk in perfect order and at just
the right angles. I go nuts in the morning if it looks
like someone has moved something even just a little bit. I'm not like that at home. By all
appearances at home, I'm the creative writer....paper stuff all over my computer desk and
nothing in any sort of order. At work? Compulsive. Go figure.

Reading. If I have a day without a chance to
read, I get very twitchy. Also, having a clean desk when I'm working. I can't focus
if my desk is cluttered.
Jane, 60

USA
Clutter. I hate to see piles of things
anywhere.
Felicia, 35
Lowell, MA

I don't know if it's compulsive so much as
it's a ritual that I must observe. I have to stop at the Montvale rest area off the Garden
State Parkway (first/last stop on the northern end of the Parkway in NJ) and get a cup of
coffee. It doesn't matter if I want coffee or not. It doesn't matter if I'm ready for a
stop or not. I just have to stop at that rest area.
Laura, 36

Make-up. I cannot leave my house
without a full face of make-up. Call me insecure.
Jennifer, 19
Wilkes-Barre, PA USA
The dishes... I feel all angsty if I leave
them in the sink dirty... it just bothers me to see them sitting there.
Maggie, 20
Sandwich, IL
USA
I am compulsive about planning what I will
do once my work day is over- needless to say this takes up a lot of thinking time during
my work day. I am also compulsive about cleaning.
Shayna, 28
Somerville, MA USA
A lot of little things, probably.
Karen, 21
Marshelltown/Ames, IA USA
I guess I get compulsive when I shop. I go
into the store and find something that is on sale and buy, but nothing big just small
items. I have cut back alot but still tend to do it. I try now to think do I need this or
do I just want it.
Marci, 56
Diamond, OH

I am completely paranoid about being
fired...without cause...others would probably be better
at answering this question that I am...
Frodo

This sounds stupid but I have a compulsive
behavior of licking my lips constantly and cleaning my ears...and taking too much
medication...

Washing
my hands. I think I know where it stems from - when I was a child I was allergic to about
a million different everyday things and my face used to flair up constantly, which isn't a
very pleasant experience. So I became a bit obsessive about washing my hands over the
tiniest things, but I'm not half as bad anymore. Nowadays the worst thing is that I 'feel'
when my hands are dirty and I can't concentrate on anything unless I clean them.
Shanna, 16

I used to be compulsive about a lot
of things - but I have come to realize (mostly after my
Mom had to have several heart surgeries) that it is important to try to relax and worry
about only the important stuff. So I remain compulsive about putting food in the fridge,
and thats about all I can think of - but I know there has to be more. Im working hard
though to get rid of the ones that dont effect health or safety.
Deb
I guess about spending money. It sure goes
fast.
Janet, 42

Spending money.
Angela, 16
Bella Vista, AR USA
I've
thought this question over for a couple of days and I can't think of anything that I'm
compulsive about.
Reba, 51
Rockville, MD
USA
I'm
pretty compulsive about the cleanliness of my food and my hands when I eat. I'm compulsive
about washing my face. I'm compulsive about my computer's "health."
