you have any of end-of-year rituals?
Making Olliebollen, which are Dutch fried dough balls with raisins, currents and apples in them.
I usually clean up my office, file away last years bills, make a new file in my Quicken. I usually take the last week off from work. SO I hang out, go to the movies, visit friends.
Usually I spend quiet time reflecting on the past year and planning for the upcoming year. This was disrupted a bit this year by an unexpected party.
I like to have the house clean and all bills paid. Dinner has to include a piece of pig because while all other animals graze backwards, the pig roots forward and this is a Good Omen.
Nah, just try to surrpund myself with loving friends.
Unpacking Christmas presents to put them away. Watching movies that were Christmas presents. Trying to put away Crhistmas decorations and not getting it done till the middle of January.
Not really, unless you count scheduling a lot of vacation days so I won't lose them. (We can't carry over unused vacation days to the next year.)
Not really. I usually make a New Year's resolution or two, but I don't take them too seriously.
only that it new years eve is the one night where I definitely do not drive, and wherever I am I am there drunk!
Natch...I mean, I normally write down 50+ New Year's resolutions....ever year...and every year I check out the collected newspapers I have collected from the end of the year over the past couple decades.
Almost always I go to my sister's house in NJ for a New Year's Eve party. Alas, this year my husband and I are leaving for vacation on Jan 1 so we won't be going. And my sister isn't feeling so great and decided not to have the usual party.
