Have you ever attended a peace rally?
Not a peace rally.
I did attend a rally in support of the priest sex abuse victims, though.
I would consider participating in a peace rally in opposition to the impending
war in Iraq, though.

no, however i am
becoming increasingly interested in any efforts toward peace despite president
bush's saying he will not pay attention to any of the protests...however
that opens up a whole new
set of issues

I used to babysit
so other people could attend protests about our presence in Viet Nam.
I don't feel that children should be exploited as sentimental symbols
for a cause.

No. But when I
was a youngster, my mom went back to college. This was in 1968-1970 and
hippies were everywhere. My favorite sandals had peace signs on them.
One of my classmates - a boy -
had long hair and the teacher brought barrettes and pinned his hair back.
He wrote God is Dead on the back of his spelling book and she ripped it
off and destroyed it.

No. As a photographer
I've wanted to but most of the people I've met who attend them are so
self righteous and hypocritical it'd make a Christian drool with envy.

I have in my younger
days attended many. I am not certain however real change happens through
such events.

Although I think
most of the people who attend those rallies are sincere and have understandable
reservations about going to war, many of the attendees simply hate America
as well as the current
administration. There was a support our troops rally in K.C at the same
time as the big "peace rally." I didn't go to that either. I
think rallies make a statement, but really don't do much good. Also, Saddam
loves the peace rallies. I wouldn't want to do anything to make him happy.
He kills his own people.

Sorry to say, but
no. I've always wondered how many of the people who regularly attend are
hypocritical, though. Do they get road rage at all, or are they abusive
to others in any way? There are people who regularly go to church that
sin, so that's why I wonder about that.

Yes, but I was
too young to even realize what was really taking place.

No. But I am seriously
thinking about attending one now. I have a family friend that is in the
reserves( he is fifty and they took him) and my son is in college but
he is almost 21. I really do not think that war with Iraq is the answer.

No. I also cannot
think of any reason as to why I would attend one. Peace is for the nai`ve.

something I would have done at some point, but I can't think of any.
