How would the world run without money?
With something
in its place, probably.

Slowly,
but with a certain ponderous dignity and appealing simplicity for stay-at-homes.
The Movers and Shakers of society would find the lack of money a severe
inconvenience.

Probably
slower, but with greater emphasis on personal relationships

I'll
tell you what ~ how 'bout you give it all to me, I'll keep a watch on
it, and this way we can all find out.

On
some other power-representing/standard bartering substance.

If
there wasn't money as we know it, there would have to be some other form
of exchanging goods and value, possibly the electronic funds transfer
we seem increasingly to be moving toward. The world these days is far
too complex for a barter system.

Cheaply.
ha. The Barter system would come alive and the hardest-working, most talented
would rise to the top. Would Bill Gates still be the richest man?

That
depends on what you define as money; I'm still envisioning some kind of
trade system for humans, but that could conceivably be eliminated also.

I
believe it would be more unjust because those with access to resources
(food, shelter, clothing) would hoard them and use them as power instruments
over those who did not.

i
guess i'd have a little more in common with everyone else. i just spent
my rent money on food.

On
a barter system like it did once upon a time.

Over
a hundred years ago that was tried in the LDS church. It failed miserably.
It didn't work then and it wouldn't work now. There will always be people
in the world that will sit back and let others do all the work then reap
the same benefits. Eventually the working folks will get mad. I think
it's human nature.

I
don't know, because we all need it, but it does nothing but cause stress
at the same time.

Probably
in much the same way it did before the invention of those wonderful green
slips of
paper...with the barter system...like, somebody would trade a cow for
a pig...the same concept...whatever
Frodo,

I
think there would always be some sort of barter system. People would find
a way to trade for what they want that you have.

No
idea.
Tam
I'm
sure we would have some sort of trade system. Shells, coconuts, sex...who
knows. "I just got back from the grocery store honey and man, Milk
is getting expensive, I have to put out twice"

As
my husband has been without a pay check since Dec. Our household has been
running quite well without money. If things do look up soon, our country
will be running without money.
