How
did you celebrate New Year's Eve?New Years was uneventful. My husband and I went out around
7:00 had a couple of beers and a couple of appetizers. Then we went home and watched The
Cider House Rules. At midnight we wished each other a happy new year and then went to
sleep.

New Year's is a very reflective time for me.
I like to think about the past year and wonder about the year to come. This year I drove
home from a beautiful Winter Wonderland in the Hudson River Valley. Cooked myself a
wonderful steak w/ veggies. Sorted through my year-end thoughts and wrote down my
resolutions for the new year and fell asleep on the couch at about 11:30pm. It was a
peaceful and fulfilling evening.

Hah. I was babysitting 4 kids and all but
the baby stayed up. It really sucked!

I finished reading two good books; discarded
a mediocre book; read a few chapters of mind-improving books and started reading an
excellent fantasy novel. I was in bed by eleven.

I SPENT NEW YEARS EVE PREPARING SPAGHETTI
FOR ABOUT 25 FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS I HAVE DONE FOR THE LAST 14 YEARS. WE EAT ANY WHERE
FROM 5PM TO MIDNITE DEPENDING ON HOW LATE EVERYONE GETS HERE. IT WAS A TRADITION LEFT FROM
MY FATHER.

I went into Circular Quay - it's the
main ferry terminal in Sydney, with a view of the Harbour Bridge - and watched the
fireworks and the drunken people everywhere.

New Year's Eve is a time to sit back and
reflect on the past year and it's acomplishments and also to look forward to the coming
year and all it has to offer. I got high with my friends and fell asleep on the floor.

I couldn't get too crazy this year,
considering that I'm 7 months pregnant and must stay in a horizontal position all day
long! Oh, and don't misunderstand that as a positive thing for my husband - sex is out of
the question until after the baby is born! It's even the first instruction on my discharge
papers from the hospital - NO SEXUAL INTERCOURSE! How lovely. Anyway, my husband made
homemade French Onion soup with homemade french bread, and we watched "When Harry Met
Sally" for the 20th time. After that we watched a little of the Dick Clark thing,
which I had never seen in my life since I've always been out partying on past New Year's
Eves. I feel SO OLD and boring!

Well, my husband and I rented a motel room
out of town, went out to eat at a restaurant called Cooker's. It was really good. We were
going to go to a local bar/dance club for the countdown and to dance a little but we got
so tired, we stayed in the motel room, and watched the BillBoard countdown, and that has
got to be the worst show on tv I have ever personally seen. It sucked so bad that it
depressed me. I've never seen so many fake smiles and fakeness period in one arena in my
entire life. Anyway, we stayed up for the countdown. At three o'clock, work called and my
husband had to leave, to take his boss (godfather more like it)all the way to Knoxville
just to find out that his flight was canceled and then he drove back to work, and to make
a long story short, I was in the motel room ALONE from 3 to nine-thirty this morning, and
when he finally got back to the motel room, I was ready to leave and I was so pissed off
that I was ready to kill his boss for ruining our New Year's Eve getaway. I'm still
pissed.

Drove in slush from here to my bf's
house. Drove in ice from there to a hotel. Drove in ice
from there to a party. Got wasted, blew kazoos, ate cocktail weenies, etc. Called
taxi. Rode on ice back to hotel and slept through bf fetching car. Then back to his house
and back to mine and slept another 10 hours. :)

Nice and mellow. My sister and her family
and friends of ours came over to celebrate the New Year. We just hung out and drank and
ate. My son had some of his friends over.

I spent it quietly at my boyfriends house.
It was me, him, and my son. Nothing too terribly exciting, but it was nice all the same.

Quietly, at home...just me and my
fiance. This is just the way I like it...having lived in the city and tried once at going
to Times Square, I'll never do that again. I'd rather
watch everyone freeze their asses off and act like a bunch of maniacs let-loose from the
comfort of my own home -- no driving or traveling to worry about after the ball drops! As
for parties...there are ways to make your own and have just as much if not lots more fun!
I always miss my daughter on this night...but she has developed a sort of tradition over
the past few years, of going to her best friend's house, eating till they drop and
watching the MTV extravaganza on the tube. Sure I'd rather she were with me...but at 14,
the last thing I wanted was to sit in the living room with my parents on New Year's
Eve...so I let her go. She has a blast, and I'm content with my mellow and
reflective atmosphere.

Was supposed to go to see a friend perform
in Boston but due to a storm ended up staying home with my girlfriend. Guess what we were
doing at midnight.

Actually, mine was rather boring
this year...my friends and I were supposed to have a party, but it got canceled:( Sooo, i
went contra dancing with my parents and then we came
home, did a puzzle (old family tradition) and watched the ball drop on tv.

Must I
say? It was so lame! I stayed in with my honey and we rented the Patriot. We watched the
ball drop, kissed, and drank some champagne. Then some hanky-panky might have followed,
but enough about that!

At home, with my parents, b/c all 3 sets of

One of my friends had a party so I went to
that. The music was atrocious, and there wasn't any decent alcohol, but I had fun. It was
a nice way to ring in the new year.

I went to
the First Night celebration in Quincy, MA with a friend. We met up with some kids, but it
was really cold and really boring (it didn't really live up to the hype) so we went home
around ten. We ended up hooking up with those kids at the end, which made my boyfriend
really mad.

Anthony and I had a party at his apartment
with many finger sandwiches, much food and drink, champagne at midnight, and, of course,
the Question Game (tm).

I don't really feel that safe driving around
on New Year's Eve, so I spent the night at a friend's house with a small group of friends.
