What
is the most joyous aspect of raising a child?Teaching a child to find joy in
life. Secondly, watching the child grow and develop, physically, intellectually and
emotionally.

Although I don't have have any of my own I
am working with DSS kids and recently heard one of them say 'Maybe I shouldn't have stolen
the car.' It was touching, really.

every part of raising a child has the
potential to be joyous. Tonight my son laid his head on my shoulder, shut his eyes, curled
his hand into mine and sighed softly. That, by far, was the most joyful moment of the day
for me. The potential children have for making the most mundane things magical is the best
part of raising a child.

I am getting married on March 23rd
and my fiance' has two girls, Mikayla is 6 and Alexis
is 4. Based on my experience of being a new father and not having had to go through the
"early" years, I'm a bit spoiled. But, so far, the best aspect of raising my two
step-kids is their unconditional love. No matter if they do something bad and I have to
discipline them or if I'm just in a bad mood, they still love me. I have been definitely
blessed to have met a woman that has children that have taken to me so well.

Wouldn't know first hand. But from the kids
that surround me, seeing the constant growth and development must be pretty satisfying.

I can't really answer this question because
I'm not raising any children (yet) but I think that when that does happen, it will
probably be the little things like watching my child crawl or play more than anything
else.

Their
love. Watching them turn into functioning human beings. (At times I wonder when this
transformation is going to completely take hold). BUt it is really neat to watch your
child accomplish something that really is important to them and see their glow of
happiness from achieving something worth while. Seeing that they make the correct
decision/choice, even if it is the harder thing to do.
Janet, 44

I don't have children, so I don't feel
qualified to answer.
