Do
clothes make the man? No, But the sure do make me notice him.
Carmen
Clothes do not make the man, but most men
look better when clothed.

Well not really, but to a certain extent
Yes. I mean, you shouldn't look like a total slob.
Dianne, 16

Not at all.
Fisch, 45

Thought one: That man had to choose
those clothes. Thought two: It takes a hell of a lot
more than clothes to put together a personality or even to express any given aspect of a
personality

Not really, but there are situations, mostly
involving meeting new people, where clothes affect one's perception of the man or woman.

NO!
Tracy, 24
Ocean City, NJ USA
Absolutely not. Though it may make the first
impression...it certainly doesnt make the man.
Ry, 23
I think people judge you by how you look. If
you are attractively groomed and lookin' good, It sure goes a long way on wanting to get
to know you. So yes clothes do make the man.
Janet, 42
E. Brunswick, NJ USA
Heavens no.
Karen, 21
Marshelltown/Ames, IA USA
Well, I think they do. You can literally
take a dirty, grungy old homeless man and puthim in a tux and he is really to go to the
opera. And you put that same guy in ratted old yucky clothes,he won't make it to the curb.
Clothes tell alot about a person. They let others know what kinda of job you
work for and what kind of personality you have. They are as seen and relied upon as a
person's face.
Stephanie, 25

No. I don't think that clothes make
the man. I think that the heart and soul make the man. The insides. not the outsides.
Anjel, 20
I think that a good dress sense can make a
man more physically attractive, as does a flattering, stylish haircut. But, with the
exception of transvestites, I don't think a man's personality should change depending on
what he's wearing.
Shanna, 16

nope...but it helps!! i notice clothes and
looks first, but personality is what really "makes the man"...if i notice him
and he's hot, but has a bad personality, it won't work... actually, conversation skills
are #1 in what makes the man!!!!
Anjel, 20
I think its attitude and self confidence
that "make the man" more than clothes, although clothes can provide a valuable
first impression.

Sure-remember Twain said that "naked
men have very little influence on society." ;) Seriously though, I don't think
clothes have very much to do with who a person is.
Angela, 16
Bella Vista, AR USA
No, but the lack of proper clothes can hurt
a man.
Reba, 51
Rockville, MD

well they certanly can effect the
man
Jaden, 21

Clothes don't make the man, but first
appearances are very important.
