How hot is too hot?

When the heat and the humidity are having a battle for which one can be worse.

I don't know how to respond. I love the summer. Right now New England is in the middle of a heat wave (officially defined as 3 or more consecutive days of 90 degree Fahrenheit temperatures). I've been moaning and groaning about the heat, but I prefer this to cold and snow.

AS A GENERAL RULE, "too hot" is anything over 80 degrees. I say "as a general rule" because sometimes even 80 degrees is too hot, especially if the humidity is high. This is referring to weather. As for food, anything that burns my tongue is 'too hot'.

I'm severely uncomfortable when the temperature is above 72 degrees.

When you get up into the 30's (Celcius) that can be a killer! Luckily I have Air Conditioning!

When I get out of the shower and simply cannot dry off, that's too hot. When I get in the car and have to leave the door open till my a/c finally takes the edge off, it's too hot. Tuesday, yesterday, and today ... it's too hot.

And for these folks who claim it's nice out in Arizona cause the heat is dry....I lived in Las Vegas back in '80 - my oven is dry too but I don't wanna sit in it all day long.

However hot it was today. Damn. I live in the northeast and I'm not used to it being 95 degrees for days on end. Please autumn come soon.

"It is not the heat - its the humidity." - as we say in Maine. Of course, we have never seen temperatures as high as some places have - so there may be a dry heat that is too hot. Here, though, temps can get pretty high if it is dry. Humidity can cause 75 degrees to seem too hot.

No such thing! I am always colder than everyone around me, so I'm happy no matter how hot it is. Really excessive humidity can bother me, but summer is my favorite season.

This weather is too damn hot!! Three days with a heat index of over 100... I pine for those subzero Chicago winter days.

I don't know, somewhere arround 100 with humidity

It really depends on the humidity factor. In general 80 degrees Farenheight would be too hot, but it might even be less than that if it was particularly humid..

In temperature, depending on the humidity, somewhere between 80 and 85. In spiciness, when the blatant heat impairs my ability to appreciate the complexity of seasoning.

Personally I think that anything over 25 degrees Celsius is too hot.  Fortunately the temperatures rarely reach that figure in Britain, let alone pass it.

Shanna, 16

As hot as it is outside is definitely too hot.

I think 110 degrees is too hot but 100-109 degrees is ok.

A wicked 95 degrees in hot, hazy, humid New Jersey. It is sooo oppressive!!  It's like swimming in the air.

Too hot is when it's really hot and really humid all at once. THAT is the worst.
