What
would your ideal work environment include? A wooden chair, a desk, a computer
with all programs and tools needed for my work, a pen that always worked, and a pencil
that was always sharp. A fat paycheck. Silence. Trees and plants outside.

My ideal work environment would include: NO
FILING...A computer, lots of pictures of my dogs...a refrigerator, CD player, a cot (in
cause I want to sleep over at night...to avoid traffic... my dogs, and the walls would be
painted bright red, yellow, and purple...like a hallucination....oh, wow, the colors,
man...

A room where I can hole up and close the
door. One big enough for my desk, computer, printer, file cabinet, etc. A daily massage
therapist would be nice, too.

Congenial colleagues, sensible clients,

bright
and airy space w/ a hint of history. Intelligent and committed colleagues to work with. A
defined path with an open mind to getting things done. Adequate resources to get the job
done. A bit of humor and some good vibes couldn't hurt.

Staying home and doing whatever I
want a paycheck is automatically deposited into my bank
account. Out side of that, I would like my own office, good speakers on my computer so I
can listen to music, a TV playing CNN outside my office so I can see what's going on in
the world, great bosses, an interesting job with work I enjoy. Wait, I already have that.
The only thing I need is to be instantly transported to work with no commuter hassle.
Janet, 44

My desk is really cool where I work
now. The only thing that I don't have that would make
it better would be a radio/cd player. I can't stand it when it's quiet between calls. I
have my stuffed monkeys, my pictures, things that mean stuff to me all over my desk. One
of the leads was teasing me about that last week. She said, "It's amazing to me how
you've only been on the floor a week or so, and your desk is so decorated. Other people in
your class, their desks aren't even clean yet."
I have good people that I work with, a good
environment, and a strong leadership team. The only thing I need to make it better than it
is would be music.

Snacks!!!
Lots of snacks! Good coworkers that listen to the same music that I do. And preferrably
doing some things outside.

Easy-going coworkers, comfortable chairs,
good computers, a CD player, and plenty of interesting work to do. Also, equipment that
actually works all the time, but one can't hope for too much...

No
customers. No screaming children. No persnickety old people. No greasy men trying to hit
on me. No cranky, trashy people who let their children tell each other to shut the ----
up. The place would be upbeat but not perky, low traffic but enough business to stay
open, hip enough for me, but too hip for
you.
