What kinds of things do you have planned for this summer? (vacations, concerts, barbecues, etc...)

I still am in the first year of my new job so I have very little vacation. Most things we do will be in the Shenandoah Valley and usually day or two-day excursions to family, etc. I am judging a poetry slam this weekend. That should be cool. Other than that, I look for any opportunity to have fun.

I'm going to the Metallica concert in St. Louis in July, we're going on a Canoe trip next weekend and a friend and I have tentatively planned a fishing trip some weekend. We also plan on going to a few Royals games, a few T-Bones (baseball) games, numerous barbeques with friends and lots of t-ball and coach pitch games.

I have no major plans for the summer, though I expect to travel to the East Coast in October. I expect I'll have the odd day at the coast or in the mountains, barbeques with friends and family, and perhaps a day or two escape to a nearby resort area.

Jane, 63

This will be somewhat of a quiet summer as far as vacations and such, but my plans do include more physical activities such as walking and perhaps bicycle riding. I'll also be bbq'ing lots of different foods in a more healthy manner. Guess I'm on a health kick ~ which is fine as long as it doesn't kill me.

Fisch, 47
Preston, CT USA

Work. Possibly a trip to Colorado. Work. Trying to get the house in order (especially if I get finished with my job). Work.

Karen, 23
Ames, IA USA

I'm helping my Dad with the national Yee convention in August, I'm going to Stratford, Ontario, Canada to see three plays in September, and I'm mowing my lawn a lot. I hope to see some of the free concerts in the various parks locally. The Sun Messengers, the Polish Muslims, and Steve King and the Dittilies are my favorites. I especially want to see the Ford International Jazz Festival (formerly Detroit Montreaux Jazz Festival) on Labor Day Weekend in downtown Detroit. I'm going to Cedar Point with my company and I'm going to ride the new Dragster roller coaster. I'm going to watch fireworks on the Fourth of July, possibly from the top of the bleachers at Clawson HS (they go off right over your head!) I'm also going to celebrate my birthday.

I'm working at a mission in Dublin, Ireland, an English camp in Kandern, Germany, and who knows what else will happen, or where I might end up.

I'm taking my Mother and son to see the Blue Men Group in July...planned a big 4'th of July barbecue...going to Kennywood (a theme park near Pittsburgh, PA) sometime in July (we do this every year)...going to spend a week or so at my house in Maine (I'll wave to Laura as I drive through Lowell on my way there!)...planning on bringing my sailboat back down to PA to do
some sailing up at Erie...family reunion is in August, I think...county fair is this month...there's the farm show in August...and that's about it for planned events. I plan to enjoy each and every day, though! (If it would only stop raining!!!)

A few trips to visit grandkids. A couple of kid's ballgames. A trip to a resort on Lake Texoma to visit some cousins. I think that's about it.

Judy, 62
Easton, KS USA

Going to a conference in DC in a couple of weeks. Tacking on some time in NYC and DC with friends. Attending a close friend's wedding in Las Vegas, taking a road trip after to LA to see another friend. Heading to the Adirondacks to spend at least one or two weekends at a lake. Hiking with colleagues up a New Hampshire mountain. Perhaps another trip to visit friends in the Hudson River Valley and take in some art.

Felicia, 37
Lowell, MA USA

I'm planning to spend a day at the Reading festival to see Metallica, I'm not sure about a vacation yet.

Aly, 17
Cardiff UK

We seldom plan more than a week or so ahead but 'play each day by ear'. At the end of June, we will spend a couple days at Shenandoah National Park. As for the rest of the summer, well, it depends on how hot and humid it gets.

Reba, 57
Gaithersburg, MD USA

I am going to a seminar at Harvard University at the end of June. Then the first full week in July I am going to a seminar on Cape Cod. In July I am teaching two courses in a seminar in Georgia. Finally in August I'll take some vacation time, visit my family in NJ, go down the shore and
attend my 20th high school reunion.

Laura, 38
Lowell, MA USA

Graphic Design as far as work goes. Working with color and space and creating a harmonious balance. I believe I am really good at human relationships and creating a loving environment for my husband and family.

Janet, 45
E. Brunswick, NJ USA

I'm really good at paying attention to details. That's helped me to be a good programmer and a good cook. It's made me fairly successful in a lot of different projects. People think I'm good at a lot of things, but I think I'm really more careful than more talented.

Cathie, 53
Novi, MI USA

I'm really good at sailing...I'm a decent gardener....I'm great at landscaping...I can draw...I'm good at math...uh...I'm a good cook...and I have a fantastic imagination!

Tam

I am going to see Norah Jones and John Mayer. Probably have another barbecue. I had one Memorial Day but it rained all weekend. A couple of day trips down the shore. No big plans, cause my husband is unemployed and there is no spare money for vacations. And I don't get paid if I take off, so,I'll be working as much as I can.

Janet, 45
E. Brunswick, NJ USA

we just got back from a 2 week honeymoon so probably no plans as far as traveling. But I'm sure we'll spend some time at the pool.
