Are you dieting?

If you mean dieting to loose weight then no. I really hate all of the hype and pressure on people, especially woman to have less of an experience in relation to their food. If you mean dieting to have more balance of food choices, that is a worthwhile endeavor, but one I'm hardly ever willing to put the time and energy into maintaining.

Since everyone has to eat, everyone has "a diet".

Negative. I gained a about thirty pounds while I was doing security but now that I'm working again things are getting pretty much back to normal.

Alias Irrelevante

No. I should be, but I am not.

Always!

Not really. Fortunately, I'm naturally slim but I don't eat that much anyway.

I don't consciously diet, but I do watch what I eat. I think I have a good system in place: 1. I will not "waste" my daily food intake on high fat/high carb foods that I don't really, truely love.(example: I won't eat potato chips just because they're in a bowl in front of me, but if there's a package of Oreos in front of me - I'm in trouble!)  2. I have a mental calculator that keeps track of how much bad stuff I've had in one day, and I won't eat bad stuff over a certain limit.  (example- if I have waffles and bacon for breakfast, I'll eat a light lunch and dinner) 3. I try not to eat too late at night 4. I have only one snack each day - usually something chocolate around 4pm - but it's something small like a handful of chocolate chips.  5. Downfall - I have a sweet tooth after dinner. This is usually when I have my beloved ice cream.  I did the Atkin's Diet last summer to lose weight for my wedding. I lost 9 lbs. and I was NEVER hungry. But I got really sick of eggs, meat and cheese!  I was tall and lanky in high school....I actually wanted to gain weight!!  Since I could eat ANYTHING I wanted growing up, I have to remind myself that I can't go food crazy anymore. I'm still pretty thin for my height and age,   so I try not to worry about it.

Nope. I don't believe in "dieting" for the same reasonI don't believe in people using the phrase "reverse racism" as an excuse for their own racism. They're terms set up by people to explain dispicable actions in a clear and comfortable manner. Am I "dieting"? No. Am I trying to eat healthy and exercise? Yes. I don't call it a diet. I call it an eat right.

Yes. I'm trying to lose a little bit of weight for my wedding in a couple of months, and I also need to lose weight for my own health.

Ye-ah!!!

Between January and the middle of April I'd lost 4 pounds and 7 inches strictly through exercise and eating what I darn well wanted. In mid-April I decided that the exercise thing was a habit and I began focusing on eating smaller portions and reducing the fat in my diet. I've lost 6 pounds and 4 1/2 since April. It's a long hard slog, but I don't want to develop diabetesand high blood pressure.

Yes and No.
"Yes" because I ought to lose weight, but "No" because if I tell
myself I am dieting I automatically want chocolate/crisps/fast food and all the rubbish that I really shouldn't.  I TRY and eat healthily, not always successfully!

Well, I started smoking agian, does that count?

I should be, but not really. For a man of my "stature" I don't eat all that much, but I just don't move much either. I just hate the taste of cold vegitative matter. It all tastes like grass to me.

Yeah, it's called "everynight yardwork". But it must be done EVERY night at 90 degrees or above! Just kidding, I don't beleive in diets. They harm your body more than help. Diets are short term and you always gain back what you loose and more. Daily sensible eating with occassional splurges work best. A teaspoon of what your craving works better than eating everything in your house to get rid of that craving! I have strong feelings regarding this. Can you tell? It's comes with failure and finally success at loosing weight.

No.

No, but I've been working my *** off in the gym!

Firelady, 22

No. I am trying to break my bad eating habits: fruits and vegetables instead of Candy bars and junk, water and milk instead of pop, and trying to get more protein. Also, I am trying to move my lazy butt at night and in the morning instead of laying infront of the idiot box all the time.

I was for awhile. I wanted to drop from 150 back to my original 120. I lost more weight NOT dieting. I am 140 now and still going!
