What do you do to impress others?

Very little. I enjoy being inconspicuous, the better to people-watch,  my dear.

Jill, 59
Saylorsburg, PA

I don't generally want to impress people, but if I do, it depends who it is.  If I want to impress a boi, I have a terrible habit of leaning over so that he can see my behind…

Make ghastly faces. I'm having trouble thinking of something serious.

1) For adults, entertain with seeming effortlessness. 2) For kids, display my double-jointed fingers and thumbs.

At work, I try to show my knowledge of my area. In meeting new people as friends, I try to be sweet, understanding and nice. I guess I ask about them, smile a lot and listen as much as possible. I am not terribly interested in impressing people through monetary means. I just want to be thought of as intelligent, capable, and nice. Doesn't require TOO much extra effort most days!

I will talk with much confidence and authority about anything, whether I know what I am talking about or not.

3 possible answers:
1)Why would I need to impress anybody? I already have a girlfriend.
2)Wait for a third party to make a minor conversational error and then playfully mock them about it for hours
3)Show them the trophy I won from The Rat Vs. Rat Grudge Match Poetry Slam

That's easy...my job. The minute I tell someone that I am a special education teacher AND that I work with autistic children they just go ga-ga over the whole thing. I love it and it's great to know people appreciate what I do! But if you really want to know what impresses people...I have this trick where I take a mouth full of Everclear and a match and can make this huge fireball. People think this is great...it's really not that hard as long as

I act like I actually know what I'm talking about!

I don't consciously try to impress anyone, so I don't know.

I pretend to talk on my cell phone and say things like "buy, buy... no sell, sell...double my capital venture overlays and reconfiguer my portfolio allocations. I don't know if it means anything, but it sounds really impressive.

This is a good question. At first my reaction was "I don't TRY to impress people", but after I thought about it, I guess it's human nature to do so.  The best way to do it is to display a big wide smile, sparkling eyes, clear and intelligent conversation, and self-confidence. It doesn't matter how wealthy you are, or beautiful you are - showing happiness and self-assuredness is the best impression one can make.

Most of the time I don't really care if I impress anyone or not, but when I do, it's usually related to work somehow. So I take the time to be well prepared for the anticipated situation: know the facts, feel confident, etc. Also, I generally take a little extra care picking out clothes and fixing my hair.

this sounds vain, but i'm incredibly confident and i think that impresses others, so i really dont have to "do" anything.

Nothing, I don't feel the need to impress anyone.

Nikki, 27

I do nothin' to impress others. All I care about is what my boss thinks of the job I do. As long as I can look myself in the mirror, people can think whatever they want, and I know they do.
