Have you gained /lost a significant amount of weight?

Yeah. . .I barely ate for three weeks or so, so I lost a lot. I kind of hope I don't gain it all back.

Because of a combination of tribulations, I've put on considerable extra weight in the last five years. This year I hope to remove it permanently.

Yes. My weight tends to fluctuate easily, but about 16 years ago I lost almost 40 pounds. Kept it all off for several years, since then have gone up and down fairly often.

During high school I dropped about 30 pounds and completely transformed from a fat kid to a normal kid. Since then, I have fluctuated 20 pounds above or below 170.

After getting injured I went from 185 to 230. I'm back down to just over 200 lbs.

Alias Irrelevante

When I first joined our fitness center in 1955, I was a little overweight but 6 months of constant exercise and lifting weights (which I loved) was taking it all off me. And with all the exercise, I could pretty much eat what I wanted. But on New Year's Eve I sustained a shoulder injury and could no longer lift weights. Apparently the lifting weights part is what kept me going back to the center each day and when I could no longer do that I stopped going to the center so often...and put back all the weight.  The following year the government (which I work for) was "on furlough" and was shut down for a month. Then a severe blizzard closed us down for another week. During that short period of non-exercise and increased eating, I gained 30 pounds.

Since I was about 16 I've lost about 45-50 pounds thanks to a nutritionist, a change of lifestyle, exercise, and lots of water.

This question is so vague. My weight tends to oscillate over a spectrum of about 10 lbs., but never much more than that.

No. My weight usually stays the same (~115) because I have a fast metabolism and I do a lot, but I also eat a good healthy amount. If I either lost a lot of weight (that would be scary) or gained a lot of weight (i couldn't dance or run very well, and i have to admit, i as many girls do, would have definate self image probs) it would be a bad thing. Anyways, i'm not making sense and need to shut up now!

No... I'm not over/under weight, I've always just been average. I would like to be skinnier, but I like food too much!!

We'd have to define significant, then, wouldn't we? Throughout high school I was between 100 and 110 pounds, and about the same my first year of college.  When I stopped going to school and moved in with my girlfriend, I gained a bit of weight but I seem to be sticking around 135 now. I prefer being 110-115, though, so one of these days I'll get around to losing 20 pounds.

Yes, I gained 25 pounds with my pregnancy and lost 40 after my pregnancy, so that was sorta cool. I am still on the downswing, hopefully I will lose 15 more by the time spring rolls around.

I jump around between 140 and 170. It's different every month, but I always look the same somehow.

Let's put it this way. When I was 16 I was like 5'7" and was so skinny I looked I'll. I'm now 23, am only 2-3 inches taller, and weigh 230. That'd be a yes.

I have lost 40 lbs . and have stuck to it since last summer. I am very proud of myself. Hope I don't sound like a commercial but Slim Fast really workS!

Depends on your opinion of "significant." I lost about 45 pounds in a short period of time after a sudden illness once. To me, that was significant. Not a recommended diet though.

Nope-my weight stays w/in a 20 lb. range-the cause of the weight (muscle vs. fat) has differed through the years though.

Well, I suppose a noticeble amount of weight, last summer, since the very first thing my probably said when I saw me is that I put on weight. Now, I am trying to lose, although, if I will or not, who knows, who cares.

Between my sophomore and junior year in high school I lost 30ish pounds. What a life changer...a self confidence changer! I went from a size 14/16 to a 8/10. I can't imagine ever going back either! Once in college I was down to a six, but I think that was al due to a HIGH level of stress! A solid 8 is a nice place for me!!

I have lost over 30-49 pounds (over a year and a half) and have put it all back on and then some. Now I am trying to lose the weight again.
