What was your first reading primer?
It
was "Dick and Jane." My Mom had taught me to read before I got
this book in school, so it was really boring.

I read Dick

I don't remember
having a specific book.

Fun With Dick
and Jane, I think....

My mother
taught me to read before I started school. She didn't use a primer--just
"real" books (the kind with motivation built in).

Um, we didn't
really do primers in the traditional sense of the word. So I'm not sure
what we're talking about here. I had lots of books at home, including
one on how to write all the letters, and there were learning games on
our computer. I don't remember what books we read early in school.

The Dick and
Jane books.

Dick and Jane.
My children's school reading lessons also started with this classic. My
grandchildren, however, have had several series of little paper back books,
each volume the equivalent of one story in a traditional reader.
