Do you write snail mail anymore or do you mainly rely on email?

Some of both

I definitely prefer email and communicate in written form by that method. However, my older relatives are not wired and don't intend to get that way so a handwrritten note tucked inside of card is the written form for them.

Have to say though, I do love the intimacy and care of a handwritten card, note or letter. There are those no longer in my life who live on in the unique penmanship of their correspondence.

I still have a dozen snail mail correspondents. For three of them the large print options on my word processor are very useful.

Mainly e-mail. I like the idea of how much paper it's saving but for security reasons I still pay bills by snail.

Alias Irrelevante

E-mail, almost exclusively.

I never sent mail to anybody anyway, email just means it's more likely now.  Cards still get sent both ways and shipping of items of course takes place  in 3d.

I rely on email, but I never used snail mail much before anyway.

Shanna, 15

I love to write big long bulky hand written letters. I use e-mail every day too.

Tina, 31

Hate snail mail. Only in super-special circumstances will I use it.  Email is far easier for me.

Jesse, 24

the only reason I would need to write snail mail is to complain or if they don't have e-mail. But other than that, i rely on e-mail mostly.

Stephanie, 24

I try to reply to all my emails I think it is respectful to those that send you email that you should reply that is if it is a personal email not to the web pages or info email.

I almost never write snail mail anymore, I use e-mail pretty much exclusively. I'd like to write snail mail more often, though. It's a classic art.

If I can, I use email to keep in touch with people. But some folks don't have a computer or if they do, you may not know their email address. As a church secretary I have often needed to send someone a message and it was surprising to me how many people only read their email once or twice a week

Reba, 50

email only. however, before email, i never wrote snail mail, either.

One of my good friends is a woman in Ireland who became my pen-pal when we were both 12. She doesn't have access to e-mail, and I'm not independantly wealthy enough to call every month, so...

i do actually write snail to a friend in california and one in japan. otherwise i do rely on email. it's so much quicker, cheaper, and  trustier.

Brooke, 16

I use snail mail quite a bit for work. Email almost exclusively for personal correspondence. I have a handful of relatives who aren't on email and they get the occasional post card or letter from me.

Laura, 35

E-mail all the way!

Dianne, 16

If you are expecting an answer, email is the way to go. I can just sit here, type it out and send it. Otherwise you need to find a pen, paper, envelope and then will I ever find a stamp and then remember to mail it?????

Janet, 42
E. Brunswick
, NJ  USA

I still write back and forth with snail mail sometimes, but people are more likely to answer the email I send them, so I mostly do that.

Karen, 21
Marshelltown/Ames

I write snail mail occasionally, especially to people who do not have e-mail...and yes there are still some people out there who don't have it, but not many!!

Often

Jami, 27

i write snail mail to relatives without the net but i prefer e-mail.

Jade, 16

I only write snail mail when absolutely necessary. Being a writer by nature, I never thought I'd see the day when I didn't have a pen in my hand most of the time. I have one sister in New York who still lives in the dark ages and refuses to buy a computer. She handwrites me letters about twice a month and man does she get pissed off when I don't get right back to her. We've tried everything and this woman will not get online. Her loss. And is it me or has everyone else in the world noticed a drastic change (digression) in their own penmanship?

Fisch, 45

I am definately a bona fide computer nerd!!! Email all the way. It is cheaper and faster, and I love it to pieces.

Maggie, 20

I sometimes write snail mail to some of my friends online, but other than that, e-mail is my main means of communication other than chat.

Jeremy, 13

sadly, e-mail. But snail-mail is developing a certain  romance about it.

Jaden, 21

I mainly rely on email, but I still write snail mail to a few people overseas I know.

Karen2, 14

I barely write email much less snail mail. I'm a wretched correspondent.

Amy, 23
