Do
you prefer wallpaper or painted walls?I prefer painted walls- Wall paper is a constant pattern w/
variations depending on the pictures and accesories on the wall. A painted wall can be
changed and draped and temporarily changed to your liking.

paint, and none of that cheep stuff either.

It's funny that this question was asked..I'm
in the middle of doing my first real interior decorating project for our new condo. I like
paint best. I'm obsessed with what color I'm going to paint the living room, and
what color of couches I want. I'm only going to do wallpaper in the kitchen. My
mother-in-law will help me with all of this stuff. It's all very intimidating

I highly prefer paint over wallpaper. But
depending on the pattern, a rich wallpaper can accomplish so much more than paint.

i don't really have a choice, as i live in
apts but...i prefer a mixture something styled and designed to what will be in a
particular room something in thirds with borders works well in a lot of cases

It depends on the room and the furniture. At
this time, my living room sofas are upholstered in a floral print, so I want plain
walls. But I have had patterned walls and plain furniture and been equally happy.

Painted, please. Too much goes wrong with
wallpaper - seams, tears, old nail holes, the thrill of removing the wallpaper...

Painted walls, because some wallpaper is
kinda ugly and I like the contemporary look.

TOJ: Taste the same to me. Actual answer:
paint, paper peels and occasionally has a nails-on-chalkboard like sound when you hit it.

I PREFER PAINTED WALLS I HAVE REMOVED LAYERS
OF WALLPAPER ON A OLDER HOME AND IT WAS A JOB. I DO LIKE THE WALLPAER PRINTS THEY HAVE
TODAY AND I DO THINK THAT WALLPAPER DOES COVER UP WALL IMPERFECTIONS. I GUESS IF I HAD
SOMEONE TO HELP ME FIND THE RIGHT KIND OF PRINT I MIGHT USE SOME BUT ALSO WITH TODAYS WAYS
OF SPONGING AND MAKING DISIGNS WITH PAINT AND PAINT STENCILS I WOULD RATHER USE THE PAINT.

Painted walls. I think paint doesn't get
dated as quickly and you don't get sick of it as quickly. You can be more creative with
paint also... I painted a huge mural on my son's walls and I had a ball doing it

I don't mind a wallpapered kitchen or
bathroom....but I like the crisp look of a solid wall in the rest of the house. My
thinking is that a person claiming to hate wallpaper has basically had some god-awful
experience trying to put the crap up!

My husband is a sheet rocker by trade. It
has taken 18 years of marriage to convenience my husband to let me paint the walls any
other color but white. Wallpaper is sacrilegious in our household.
Janet, 42

I prefer my wall bright red all around, so
they look like a hooker lives there. Aint I sick?

If I'm doing the work myself, paint
is much easier. On the other hand, here are some rooms
that can be vastly improved by a combination of paint and wallpaper.

Painted walls all the way!!! WooHoo!
And anyone out there who said wallpaper--just a foreshadowing: when you're 60 you'll
have plastic covers on all your sofas!!! How horrible is that?
