Why
do you fail?I fail because I am unsure of myself. I fail because I don't understand.
I fail because I do not try.
Jeremy, 13
Highlands Ranch, CO USA
I fail because I think I can not
succeed.
Felicia, 34
Lowell, MA
USA
I fail because I am a person with
magnificent aspirations and an unfortunate proclivity for sloth.
Jill, 59
Saylorsburg, PA USA
I fail when I let other people convince me
that I'm failing. When I don't let them do that, it never occurs to me that I might
be "failing".
Jesse, 25
Bowie, MD
USA
Because I don't apply myself hard enough, I
don't have enough motivation or self-esteem to believe that I will succeed.
Broken, 18

Because I doubt the Lord's ability to solve
my problems
Melodi, 19
Hlliard, OH

I usually meet my commitments. When
I do fail at a project, it's usually because I've procrastinated about it and don't leave
enough time to finish.
Laura, 35
Lowell, MA
USA
I fail when I don't care enough to complete
the follow-through, orwhen I get so involved in the process I forget the goal.
Jane, 60
West Linn, OR
USA
Mainly because of my stupidity or inaccurate
judgement.
Shanna, 15
Cardiff ENGLAND
If I knew, I'd stop doing it!
Karen, 21
Marshelltown/Ames, IA USA
I don't fail. I won't let myself.
Amy, 23
New Orleans, LA USA
I fail because I don't try hard
enough.
Tina, 31
Medford, MA
USA
Why do you assume I fail?
Jami, 27
Lowell, MA
USA
Your own shortcomings.
Alias Irrelevante
Oh, I suppose incompetence, stupidity... all
are reasons. As long as I try something and fail, I am willing to accept that. After all,
to quote Barney Rubble, it takes a smart man to know when he's stupid.
Mick, 30
Chicago, IL USA
. . .uh, probably because I get easily
distracted and have severe self-image problems. . .
mothmc, 36
Los Angeles, CA USA
either personally or in general... because i
(or we) don't want to try or don't think we can actually suceed... not enough confidence
Brooke, 16

Because it's easier than succeeding. I know
the outcome of failure. I know the results. I am familiar with the comments and the
slow shaking movement of the disappointed head. Plus, if I succeeded I may possibly
overshadow my sister and she'd never talk to me again. As long as she's the successful
one, she's happy with us.
Bridget, 27
WI USA
Ultimately, you fail because you choose to.
Nothing is random or unchosen. Your reasons may be numerous. I'd say usually I fail
because I don't really care about what I'm trying to do--even though I don't realize this
at the time. Where there's a will, there's success. I believe that.
Charlie, 21
PA USA
I fail firstly to "hidden
intentions" (I secretly hope to fail, but never admit this to myself) and secondly to
not preparing, like I will win. Preparation is a main key to winning.
Fish, 40
Port Dover CANADA
It depends on what I'm failing...
Dianne, 16
Oshawa, Ontario CANADA
I don't know
Savannah
Ok, this questions is way too broad- I'm
going to use it as failing at life in general. I believe many people fail at life's
problems becuase either they don't want to make the effort or want to take the easy way
out. Don't get me wrong, I will at times take the easy route, but only when the
outcome is in my favor and has no negative effects on others.
Stephanie, 25

I THINK LOW SELF ESTEEM HAS ALOT TO DO WITH
WHY WE FAIL OR NOT ENOUGH SUPPORT FROM A CLOSE FRIEND OR FAMILY. I ALSO THINK FEAR HAS
ALOT TO DO WITH FAILING MAYBE LIKE BEING NEEDED IF YOU DECIDE TO GO TO SCHOOL AND IF IN
SCHOOL YOU HAVE NO TIME TO BE THERE FOR SOMEONE IF THEY NEED YOU. ALSO IF WEARE A WEAK
PERSON WE FAIL.
Marci, 55
Diamond, OH
USA
I believe sometimes we fail due to
the uncomfortable realiziation that if we achieve something great, it may set a new
"standard" in the eyes of those we love the
most, and we may then be expected to meet this new standard in everything we do. That can
be scary. However, I also believe that we sometimes fail because we completely suck at
what we are attempting to accomplish.
Fisch, 45
Preston, CT

I either can't do it, won't do it, or don't
fail.
Reba, 51

general laziness/lack of initiative, or
maybe its...
Anthony, 25
Baton Rouge, LA USA
Probably
because I do not give 100% to whatever I trying to accomplish.
