Do you enjoy your own company?

Of course. I'm a delightful person.

Sadly, more than the company of most others.

damn right i do. i have to since i am in it more than i would like to be.

i would actually wither and die if i didnt have to a certain amount of time to spend with myself. most of the time i just think about everything.

i sort through every situation that is in my life and try to find out where i stand in each one.

i do talk to myself more than is proper or sane i guess but i have to say i am pretty damn funny. i crack myself up sometimes.

the time that i enjoy my company the most is when i am driving. i purposely take long drives at odd hours out tot he middle of nowhere to satisfy my need to alone and away from everything,
mainly everyone. it also gives me the satisfaction of exploring places that i have never been and enjoying scenery.

i have a special spot in the mountains about two hours away where i like to go at night and just sit and think. its damn near pitch dark out there but you can see city lights in the distance and the stars directly above.

i dont think i could handle someone else being there. i guess its my special place for me and myself alone.

i am slowly changing though. for the 7 years i have cherished my own company. now i am starting to see the benefits of others. i guess its just me maturing into the person i should be and realizing that people are not so bad to be around. i guess now my company can get a little boring and lonely.

that is currently one of the issues or situations that i ponder in my own company more often than others. i guess i know a few ways to fix it but im still immature in many ways by choice so i hold onto the fear of the solutions. it usually takes me a while to get moving in situations concerning myself. i prefer to help others first and take the focus off of myself.

that has worked for a long time but i guess its starting to slip. the more and more i think about it the more and more i get closer to fixing it.

this is a prime example of me in my company. but its a little watered down.

Yes. I also enjoy that of others.

Jane, 63

Definitely. I've been living alone all week, most of it spent on my own, and I've thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I lived alone for 15 years. There were times when I was lonely, but I was OK with being alone. I can shop by myself, eat out by myself, I've never gone to the movies alone, but I could do that if I wanted to.

Cindy, 41

Actually, yes. I can't remember the last time I was truly bored and never seem to run out of things to do while I am without others.

Fisch, 47
Preston, CT USA

Yes. I'm pretty comfortable with the kind of person I am. I can use some improvement, but I don't have any big guilt issues. I don't mind being alone and entertaining myself, either.

Cathie, 53
Novi, MI USA

I do enjoy my own company, although I go a bit batty if left on my own for too long. I'm too old to invent friends to keep me company, but that never stops me if I've gone 8 hours or so withough human interaction!

Cardiff UK

Sure, I talk to myself all the time!!
