How often do you visit your town library?

My town library is very tiny and has extremely limited resources. I don't use it as much as I would if it were a larger and better equipped facility.

Fisch, 47

I get new library books once or twice a week.

once a year or less

Melodi, 19

Varies. LAtely I've been there a few times for work related stuff. Normally not that often.

Alias Irrelevante

Almost never. I buy paperbacks to read. That way, I can keep them as long as I like and stuff them into my purse without worrying if I accidentally bend the covers.

Cathie, 53

2-3 times a year. I have such a stack of unread books that to bring more home from the library would be insane. But I must say our newly renovated library is gorgeous.

Felicia, 37
Lowell, MA USA

At least twice a week. I actually regularly visit two libraries, the one in my town and the slightly larger one in the adjacent community.

Jane, 63
West Linn, OR USA

I can't remember the last time I visited the library. I buy most of my books or borrow them from friends. My mother goes about once a month, though.

Aly, 17

very rarely - I don't have much time for reading, other than stuff I have to read for my course. And the town library is pants for studying. I go to the uni libraray loads though.

Alice

Not very. . .I have so many books piled up to read that going to get more books would be silly.

Karen, 24
Ames, IA USA

Almost never.

Ryan, 29
Riedlingen GERMANY

It seems to go in fits and starts. Sometimes once a week. Then a month or so will go by and I haven't been there. When I have time to read, I am there regularly.

Janet, 46
E. Brunswick, NJ USA

Not so often now that I owe them $40 in late fees. I used to go all the time though.

Keri-Jade, 23
Brampton, Ontario CANADA

When I wasn't in graduate school, I visited fairly regularly -- every 1 to 2 weeks. Now all I do is read textbooks and journal articles. Although I just finished the reading for the semester, so I have a few weeks of reading for pleasure ahead of me! Yeah!

i used to live at the library all throughout high school and my first year of college. it was just a cool place to be to do work or escape from my house.

my house is just not a place that i can study in. there are just too many distractions that i can find to do instead my work. also there were people i didnt want to be bothered with at home so i went to the library.

i think after a while when i was regularly going almost everyday my family started to jump to conclusions. mainly because of my older brother, he always has to think someone is doing bad because if it was him he would be doing bad. so fueled by my brother i would have family members or friends popping up every now and then to check and see if i was really there. after about 2 months they gave up and realized i was just at the library.

finally my mom stopped me from going. she was all like you are a girl and i dont like you hanging out at the library by yourself all the time and you stay late and stuff. i am scared someone will snatch you and blah blah blah.

me being the understanding child who doesnt want her mother all worked up and worried, i gave up my getaway. i settled for my room and my computer. i dont go to the library much anymore. i do miss it but whatever i need i can get from my computer. people arent home
much anymore so this serves as a decent getaway.

i tend to leave more than i was able to back then. so i guess i grew out of needing the library.

maybe i will start going back every now and then. maybe 3 times a month. i could take my niece. the childrens section was always my favorite because there were never any kids in there. i guess thats bad but it was a good thing for me because it was seriously quiet. and it was warm too.
