Up until I was about 20 or 21 I went to services three times a week in addition to other religious activities.

No. I don't believe in god. I used to, but it just doesn't make sence anymore. I mean, the Adam & Eve story obviously isn't true. The world was not created in 7 days, or however long it was. So, if one thing isn't true, why not another? why not the whole thing? I bet some early scientists thought they conduct an experiment and write the bible, just to see who they could get to follow it. No offence, but some people are gullible.

Until I left my parents' house I went to church once a week.  Occassionally twice if a religious holiday was happening. Since that time, I only attend services when I visit my parents' house, usually Christmas and Easter.

No, no, no, no, and more NO.

Firelady, 22

No, I believe you don't have to go to a gathering or church to praise your god. In the hidden scripts it is said that temples and churches were not used and we are encouraged to pray in nature (god's land)

Stephanie, 24

No, although my intentions are quite good.

Jane, 60

No, but I think it's great that religious services are available for anyone who desires or feels they need to be there.

I work at a Catholic school. I've been to mass more times in the past 3 months than I have in the past three years. It's nice to come back to the church though. I forgot how much the mass soothes me.

Amy, 23

Throughout my childhood i had to attend mass every Saturday night and go to religious instruction every Wednesday afternoon...now I stay as far away from churches as possible

Nope, because I don't believe in organized religon, although I do believe in God, partly because it is responsible for more wars than anything  else: To quote Axl Rose, "organized religon makes a mockery of humanity".  No offence.

mothmc, 36

Yes. I attend church regularly on Sunday. Our church has what are called care circles where a group of 10-12 people meet regularly to fellowship, pray and get to know each other. We meet every other week in someone's home for dinner and sharing. They are a valuable friends. In case of a crisis at home, or I just need help with something, these friends will help out. Sometimes, I also attend a Bible study during the week. I find that   one hour on Sunday is not enough for worshipping God.

Janet, 42

No, not a regular basis.

Not really, unless there is some sort of crisis or what not that is on my plate. Otherwise, it's not really my bag.

Mick, 30
Chicago, IL  USA

No, I have been to church services in the past, and I find them all too  fanatical. One thing that encourages me not to go are those cheap signs they put out the front each month, such as the latest one, which reads: "God loves(symbolised by a love heart) UUUUUUUUUUUUU & U. I believe that sort of thing to be cheap and almost sac-religious.

I started to when I moved to my new town... until they started threatening to do a full immersion baptism on me ,leaving random gifts on my doorstep, and confrontimg me in restaurants when I didn't make Sunday service... a little creepy to me.... a lot cultlike in some ways. I didn't walk, I *ran* away from that place.

Maggie, 20

I go as often as I can with working weekends.

Sarah J.

I feel holy enough if I get to church a couple times a month.

No, I find enough religion in myself and everything around me.I usually avoid organized religion because I take offense at relative truth being presented as absolute truth, at mere people teaching other people the infallible truth they somehow hold in their head. I do see religion as having a place in society. But I don't need it, because I think I can find the truth and the way that is right for me. I also think that some people need or want to be exposed to other peoples' version of the truth, so that they can adopt it as their own.  To draw a potentially hazardous analogy: those who attend religious services are children looking for instruction, looking to be told what to do. I'd like to think I am grown up enough to not need that. Or perhaps we're all children, and I'm just running away from home.  Perhaps I am refusing to listen those who know something.
