How do you feel about globalization and the World Trade Organization (WTO)?

. . .I don't quite understand it enough to be able to make any sort of intelligent or worthwhile comment. .

What a prophetic question. With today's terrorist attacks agains the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, clearly it is time for the US to see itself strongly intertwined in how the world operates and we are in no way insulated. It is also clear that the wealthy and powerful and the organizations that serve them have responsibility to enusre the stability of those less fortunate. Explotation and oppression and policies and agreements that perpetuate such clearly have dire consequences.

Periods of change are always difficult. Remember the Chinese curse? "You are doomed to live in interesting times." Globalization is inevitable, but achieving globalization will not be comfortable.

This question wasn't timed like this on purpose, was it? As my boyfriend just said, "Somebody knows something they're not telling."

I'm pretty sure the current upper levels of government are a big enough scam for now.

I think that this little conspiracy theory would be better saved for a less controversial time and place. I would like to add, though, that when I said in an earlier answer that I wished something exciting would happen, this was NOT what I had in mind.
