How
are your friends and loved ones who may have been in NYC or Washington? My family and close
friends are all safe, but it seems almost inevitable that I'll have some connection to one
of the thousands dead. All those people.

I know no one in NYC currently, but my
prayers are with those who do.

Ain't got none of them.

I have a friend who was in the
Pentagon-luckily he got out okay, but it's a shock to him and the entire situation has
left him in pieces.

Fortunately everyone is fine. I have quite a
lot of friends in NYC and remarkably no one was hurt - only one of them works in the
Financial District at all, and he started vacation on Monday so he was all the way up past
70th. And as for DC it seems I was the one people worried about, and I'm fine.

I know of noone who was in NY or DC.
Everyone I personally know all live in TX or CA. I pray for those who were effected by
this tragedy.

I thank God that noone I know personally was
in either of these places. My brother lives in Pittsburgh and when I heard that a plane
had gone down there my heart dropped. Thankfully, he is OK and was, in fact, many miles
away from the crash. Still, I am so sad and angry that this has happened to all those
people, even if I don't personally know them. It's impossible to put my emotions into
words.

My mothers company had a branch
office not too far from the WTC and everybody's okay. I have another friend who was going
to be in Manhattan on Tuesday but had her plans
altered. I've also heard a lot of second hand stories of other close calls but haven't
heard from anybody who's lost someone yet.

Luckily, my cousin was out of D.C. and my
roommate's friend was not at the World Trade Center. So everybody I know of is okay.

All my close friends in New York seem to be
shocked but okay. As I lived in the city, and worked in Wall Street for a number of years,
I still fear that some of my acquaintances will prove to be victims.

My family is from central NJ and my
sisters and brothers live within 40 miles of NYC. Thank God they are all safe, but they
are very upset by the attack in NY. My sister-in-law is
an emergency room nurse and has been on call. She has treated the "walking
wounded" -- mostly for breathing problems, eye problems and cuts and scrapes. One of
my closest friends lives in the financial district but works in midtown. Thank God she was
at work early on Tuesday. Her brother, who also works in mid-town, made her go to their
parents' house in NJ. Two other friends who work in the WTC are safe. One got out of the
building. The other one wasn't there because her train was late. I heard that a former
colleague's daughter was on one of the flights. I can't imagine.

My father-in-law and his wife live in VA and
work in DC. She was on her way to work at the state department when she heard the reports
on the radio. Soon after that the state department was closed and she turned around
and drove home. He was in Germany for the state department and due to come home on Tues.
He is still in Germany with no way to get back to the states. I also have friends who live
and work in Maryland. While they were not directly connected, they were close enough to
receive effect such as closed work and school and worry about loved ones who work in DC.
However, by Wed AM, all of their friends and reletives in the area had been found to be
fine and their lives are returning to normal. I do not know anyone in New York and
my friends from other places were only minimally effected by the tradgedy - as was I. I
grieve for those who have had far bigger changes made to their lives than we have.

I am extremely lucky and I had no
one I knew or was even accquainted with involved in
those attacks. I don't know how I would handle someone I loved being involved with
something like that, especially since i have little to no experience with the death of any
loved ones.

I have not lost family or friends in this
tragedy. Many, many of my friends are grieving both for their loved ones and for our
country and our civilization. We all have the larger griefs.

Thank God, everybody I know in those areas
are OK...

I'm a native New Yorker and worked on Wall
Street and Broadway having watched the Towers being built floor by floor in the late 60s
and early 70s. I lost two friends that I know of so far, and I have yet to make contact
with three others, one who worked on the 53rd floor, one on the 90th, and one elsewhere in
Tower 2. It took me a day and a half just to reach my sister by telephone in the city.
She's fine, but she works for the police department and is completely devastated by the
loss of coworkers and friends. There are no words to express how I'm feeling right now. As
a nation, we've ALL been robbed of so much this time. Each and every one of us. I'm a
great lover of life and my fellow human being...but it's time to stop talking power and
exhibit some, as the greatest nation on earth.

I am lucky, as the only person I
know well in the us is JUST out of the way in Long
Island... What I'm sitting around thinking about though, is all the people I went to
school with when I lived just ouside New York. I'm not in touch with any of them any
longer, but ... it would be a mirricle if, living that close to NY none of the people I
knew were not either involved themselves, or lost a relative or loved one.

I used to live in NYC and still friends
there. I have friends in DC and I am living now near Boston where two of the planes
hijacked originated. So for me there are many connections / proobabilies. Luckily all of
those I know have experienced only shock and inconvenience. We should all be so fortunate.

Luckily my cousin who works in Manhattan
made it down to the ferries and over to NJ before being hurt. I pray to my lucky stars
that no one else I know was hurt, but my thoughts and prayers are with those who did lose
people they loved!

Luckily,
I do not have or know anyone at either of those places, but I am praying for those who
did.

We're okay so far, but we live next to one
of four bomb plants in the US so I'm not holding my breath.
