What do you think the median income is in your area? No idea. Relatively high, I've heard.
Fisch, 47 A lot of people here make big bucks but some don't. What's the median? I don't know but it's a lot higher than Texas (where I used to live). Even the homeless people have designer grocery carts with customized license plates.
Reba, 50+ Early $20's
Stephanie, 25 Bleh, it runs the gamut. I currently live in a city so there's a mix of well off and poor. I really couldn't say.
Talia, 25 $40,000
Melodi, 19 The median household income in my community is $75,000. This is the highest in the state.
Jane, 62 Is this per person or family? I'd guess about $30,000 per person, but I'm not sure. this is a rural community and it could be less.
Judy, 62 Well, I have no idea, really...but judging from friends and family, I'd say about $50,000. Tam Probably a lot considering I live around a bunch of rich folks.
Sarah Jane, 15 More than I make, that is for damn sure...of course, that is not saying much, but whatever...
Luki, 31 Around $9.00 an hour.
Em, 16 No idea. I'll guess about 20k. Alias Irrelevante The median income here in Monroe County, PA is about $42,000. This reflects the salaries of people who commute to NYC, but ignores the numbers of unskilled local people who work for minimum wage.
Jill, 61 I live outside of Houston, in a small town. I am in the only subdivision in town that has curbs. We are called the rich part of the town, altho it's only because it has houses and not mobile homes. The average of the town's income would have to be low.
Laney According to HUD, about $72K, but I feel like it is a bit lower than that.
Felicia, 36 probably about $30,000
Brad, 21 I have absolutely no clue.
Karen, 22 Meidan income for a family of 4 in the Lowell MA metropolitan statistical area is $72,500. http://www.huduser.org/datasets/il/fmr02/index.html This brings you to the Department of Housing and Urban Development's publication that lists the median incomes for the United States. The numbers are useful, but don't always paint an accurate picture. For instance, the median income listed for Lowell includes the surrounding suburbs which have much higher income levels. This skews the numbers because for the city of Lowell itself, that number would be much lower. I'd estimate the median income level for a family of 4 in Lowell is closer to $45,000.
Laura, 37 The houses behind me are assessed at 3.5 million and up (not my home) so I live in a very expensive area. I would guess 500,000 and up. I feel very poor here.
KarenNJ, 25 Hard to answer...where I live is rather rich, but where I work is just of average means or below. I just don't have any guess!
Tracy, 24 Definately not enough. Around here, it varies. You have everything from fast food employees to strippers and showroom headlines. Whatever it is, it is most assuredly not enough.
Nicci, 27 Probably $50,000 to $60,000...all those computer people. Darn their hides making rent so expensive!!
Triana, 29 In our town, $63K.
Janet, 44 I'd guess around $40,000. Angela,
18 I live in an upper class neighborhood in NYC (the only way I can afford it is to live in a dorm), and most of the people here are Columbia professors and grads. I would say people here are making at least $90,000 a year, if not more. Cancer,
