Was
there a time when you felt especially proud?A question on this website last
year made me decide to write and publish a book on my family's history. When I tell people
what I've done, I feel so proud. NOTHING has ever made me this proud.

Absolutely! I recall the feeling so very
well; it was in the hospital and it was the first time I actually used the words "my
daughter." I had been so ill throughout her birth and just after, but when I finally
became well enough to go to the nursery to see her and hold her...I called ahead to see
how she was doing. Even though the words flowed quite naturally somehow, I was still
honored to hear myself use them for the very first time! I can't think of any other time
in my life that can touch that one!!

Every time I look in the mirror, baby. I'm
19, got a good job that pays well, got a retirement plan, just started night school, got
lot of friends, about to get my own place...Hell, I'm getting all proud of myself right
now.

I feel proud quite a bit. I'm a prideful
individual. I felt especially proud today in math class because there were people asking
me for help, which happens rarely.

I suppose two times come to
mind...First, when everybody said my old pit bull Mr. D
(named after my principle)...could not pass obediance class...and,after working hard with
him for a week...he passed, and was awarded the most improved dog in obediance
class...Two, there was the first time I finished writing a, albeit unpublished,
novel....well, that stuff is my bag...it works for me...so I think I will knock myself
out, why not?

When my son was performing at a coffee house
this summer. His 15 years old and he got up on stage and sang and played guitar for about
50 people or so. He performed great. Belted out Redemption song and some Dispatch
tunes. When he was done and the audience was applauded, my heart swelled with pride.
That's my boy! I was thinking.
