What gifts did you receive this season?

I got a big wad of cash, a bunch of cute cute cute shirts, a picture of a chipmunk painted on a slab of slate, and a huge candle. And a microwave.

My husband and I bought a color printer. That was our gift to each other. My mother-in-law gave me a bedspread that I very much wanted. And my father-in-law and his wife made a donation to the American Friends Service Committee in my name.

My friend in Silver Spring gave me a wonderful gift -a pair of fluffy Garfield slippers! My friend in Texas gave me coasters that you can slip photos in (I'm a photographer), and my friend here gave me beautiful placemats which are replicas of Audubons paintings of birds.

Too many to list, but a new printer/copier/scanner, a lovely computer chair, a karaoke machine (which I've wanted for years) and shoes, a lovely bath set, and a beautiful framed piece of art featuring the great horned owl!

I got a calendar with pictures of tigers, a tiger pendant, two books (I Dare and Plan B by Lee and
Miller), a cookbook (Lickety Split Meals), an Ohio State t-shirt, a pizza stone and pizza-making
ingredients, a 7-shelf plant stand, and a kitchen faucet with a pull-out sprayer.

Yo, this Christmas vacation was very, very, very interesting...word up G (or F as the case may be)...
I talked for a long, long, long time with my folks about my job situation which, for lack for a better word, sucks...it would be a bold faced lie to say that I do not hate my job...more than anything else in the world, I want to get a real job...my mom, whether she was trying to cheer me up or not, I cannot say, but she said that this is the year I get a real job...all I can say, is I sure as hell hope so...I have been trying to get a real job for 4 years now...and I am getting extremely frustrated right now...my greatest fear is forty years from now I will be a tooth gyser...still in the file room...

Themistocles, 31
Salamis

I received a Ryobi 18 volt drill/circular saw/hand saw/vac/light set (sweet!), NCAA 2003 for PS2,
clothes, Kansas State University Monopoly, Golf Monopoly (the wife and I collect different Monopoly games), a few other small things and the flu (it was the best and worst Christmas!)

Doug2, 30
Kansas City, KS USA

I received several beautiful sweaters, an assortment of trinkets, and a glass vase hand-painted with flowers by my seven year old granddaughter. Perhaps the oddest gift was a leather travel case for contact lenses. Intangible, but important, was an e-mail from an old friend with whom I'd lost

The best gift I probably could have received. Peace and quit.
