Do
you use your real name when you answer questions on this website? Why or why not?"Yes, because I'm not
afraid of who I am
Melodi, 19
Gahanna, OH
USA
I became part of the 2000 Day project very
early on in my Internet exploring. I never considered not using my real name.
Jill, 60
Saylorsburg, PA USA
Yes I do. It never occurred to me to use an
Alias.
Laura, 36
Lowell, MA
USA
Yes.
Janet, 44
E. Brunswick, NJ USA
Yeah, why shouldn't I? It's just my
first name. A million people have it.
Karen, 22
Marshalltown/Ames, IA USA
Yes, I do. Actually Alias was just the name
I was signing my email with when I first got involved with this.
Alias Irrelevante
I use my real name. Why? Probably because I
am not clever enough to come up with and alias.
Kevin, 33
Sugar Hill, GA USA
Yes. Why not? I'm not really afraid of
anything. If someone wanted to know more about me there's a lot more damaging information
than my first name (like last name, address, phone number, credit card numbers, etc.).
People these days can get your info from anywhere so a first name here isn't going to make
a big difference!
Tracy, 24
Ocean City, NJ USA
No. Figured since I run the project, it
didn't seem right
Felicia, 35
Lowell, MA
USA
Yes. I don't see any reason not to.
Angela, 18
Bella Vista, AR USA
I do. I want to be able to send people here
to see what I have to say, along with what others have to say. =)
Nicole3, 27
Las Vegas, NV
USA
I do because when I go back in a few years
and see what the answer was to questions I was asked, I want to see what I was like then.
Isn't that the whole point, the tell the truth on here?
Stephanie, 25
TX USA
Yes, because I'm not afraid of who I am
Marci, 56
Diamond, OH
USA
Fisch is actually my nickname. My real name
is Carol. Using the nickname is just a habit online. Sometimes it's neat to have a generic
nickname too. Often, people aren't clear as to whether I'm male or female, which can be a
plus on the Internet. If asked though, I'm always honest.
Fisch, 46
Preston, CT
USA
No, I don't use my real name. I'm
not exactly sure why. Two years ago when I started
writing on this website I had a pretty good reason, but you know what? I've forgotten what
it was. And don't ask me why I started using "Reba". That's a real mystery to
me. I don't even care for that name. I must have just heard a song by one of my favorites,
Reba McEntire. I've been tempted to start using my real name but that isn't something I
think I should do. It would be like 'changing horses in the middle of the stream' and
above all, I want to remain consistent.
Reba, 50+
Silver Spring, MD USA
That's a good question. No, i use my screen
name, which is one i use EVERYWHERE and im very attached to and would probably respond to
if someone called me that in real life too. My real names Samantha. But i like Talia
better.
Talia, 24
Wilton, CT
USA
Yep... I don't see why I shouldn't.
Johanna, 18
OK USA
"No, what do you think Lerch?"
"Uh, I don't know, what do you think, Mick?" "Shut-up, you are giving away
my identity!" Mick shouted, and give Frodo a piledriver, leaving him in a crumpled
heap on the ground.
"You killed him!" Will shouted,
and connected with a flying drop-kick on Mick, and then he locked in a figure-four
leg-lock, eventually causing Mick to submit. From behind, however, Lerch whacked him with
a steel chair, in addition to his many other identities, leaving a mass of broken bodies
on the ground. "Always remember, when if you can, lose if you must be always
cheat!"
Frodo
age unknown, parts unknown
yeah. I don't see why I'd have to
change it.
Patty
I use my real name. Why not?
Jane, 62
West Linn, OR
USA
Nope, cant say as I even know where it is.
Sorry.
Nicci, 27
Las Vegas, NV
USA
Well, I guess you could say my real
name isn't A-Dog....but that's what they all call me, man.
A-Dog, 19
McMinnville, OR USA
Yes I use my real name. I don't feel there
is any reason to make one up. I used to use my first and last name, but I cut it short and
only use my first name now. I also use my real age and state as well.
Lisa J., 23
TN USA
Yes, I got nothing to hide.
Ryan, 28
Riedlingen GERMANY
No, I use my most common online alias. I'm
not sure why, it's probably not hard to find out a lot about me (including my real name)
but I just prefer to go by Etoile when I'm online.
etoile, 20
Washington, DC USA
uhhhhh.. ..no. ...just cause it seems like
part of the whole dopey "web thing" to have another name....mothmc(nolan
thomas or thomas nolan(i go by both))
mothmc, 37
Los Angeles, CA USA
Yes, I do. Why wouldn't I? You can
only truly believe and support something when you can say it without hiding your identity.
Not that I blame people for hiding, though, because
sometimes supporting certain ideas can be very, very dangerous. But you really can't give
complete support until you put yourself out there.
Eric, 19
Beverly Hills, CA USA
Usually not. Because I don't see the point
in it and because I don't need my name plastered all over the Internet.
Firelady, 23
Dallas, TX
USA
Yes. I am not very good at remembering other
names so it's better to just use my own name.

Colorado Springs, CO USA
