What
is your favorite holiday song / music? My favorite kind of holiday music is the traditional songs
mostly. I like to hear them played on the dulcimer especially. And the old artists from
the 50's or 60's, can't think of any of their names right now, though. But I don't like
them played by anybody like Mariah Carey or anything like that, and I don't like played in
a county music style either. Blah.

None, I actually sort of hate
holiday music, as it is force fed down your throat at every turn this time of
year...forget all that "jingle bells, jingle
bells" junk.

I like things like "God Rest Ye Merry
Gentleman", "the Holly and the Ivy" and "Hark the Herald Angels
Sing" type of 19th century type of caroling songs. I'm not into contemporary or even
40 and 50s tunes.

Johnny Mathis' Christmas albums. My
sisters and I love them. I don't think our spouses have
the same passion.

I'm not Christian, but I'm very partial to
"Go Tell It on the Mountain!" as a holiday song. I also have moments when
"Grandma Got Runned Over by a Reindeer" seems very, very seasonal.

That is easy: The dogs barking Jingle
Bells...runner up goes to the Adam Sandler...the Hannakuh song...and Grandma got run over
by a reindeer.

In our
family, it is not Christmas unless you listen to Johnny Mathis' Christmas album, which has
been updated to the CD. My sisters and I can sing off key but with much enthusiasm to
every song. I love it. Sleigh bells ring, are you listen.....
