Do you have a master plan for how you live life and, if so, has anything
happened that was DEFINITELY NOT included in your plan?
A few things happened
in my life that occurred prior to my master plan. I think my master plan
was derived from those experiences. Once the master plan was made (if
you want to call it that), there have been a few bumps (crazy girlfriends
for example) but nothing to throw me off my plan.

nope.

I don't really
have a master plan. I have more of compass which seems to guide me in
the right direction.

Man (or woman)
proposes. God disposes. Flexibility is a basic survival trait.

I've never had
a master plan. I try to just take life as it comes. I'd think you could
count on any master plan getting sidetracked by something.

basically I'm just
out to have fun and be happy. i find this is done best sometimes by making
other people happy. And as far as i can tell, those two can conflict pretty
badly sometimes. My master plan sucks.

Well, i wouldn't
say i have a "master plan" but i have a general idea of what
I'm going to do. something that was not included was the death of my father,
which happened this past weekend. he was far too young (45).

I don't really
have a master plan. I'm too undisciplined for all that. However, I've
always had certain "images" of how things might turn out in
10, 20, 30 years. The only thing that has ever really thrown a monkey
wrench into that was when my mother passed away. I hadn't imagined losing
her so early in my life. She was always included in my wishes for the
future. Man, never take anyone you love for granted!

I don't know. My
life is kind of like my novels. I initially plan for one thing to happen,
but as I go
along that plan changes. Whatever comes naturally is what happens. Sometimes
that's frustrating, but sometimes it's good.

The only plan I
really have is to be the best person I can be. I know that's awfully vague.
I didn't plan to do certain things by certain ages. I'm not even sure
when I want to retire. I can tell you that I didn't plan to get married,
I didn't plan to get into a car accident, and I didn't plan to be a widow.

A master plan?
I can't say I have that, but I have a few basic principles that guide
my decision making. I try to love my neighbor and my enemy; I try to do
my best; I try to remember that life doesn't have to be complicated.

CANCER. I don't
know that I have a master plan for my life, but cancer has a way of being
the trump card no matter how the deck is stacked. I am four years out
from surgery and treatment and I have a good prognosis, but the big C
taught me many things and one of them is not to lock myself in to any
"plan." My priorities are different now. I don't sweat the small
stuff. I forgive people who hurt me and try hard to forget. I keep my
heart as pure as I can. I love God, my husband, stepdaughter, parents,
brother, niece, friends, goddaughter and my dogs and cats. I watch the
sunrise and I count the geese flying overhead. There is only one master
plan and I am definitely not the master.

If I have to, if
it's important that I do, I can. No problem.

I think I gave
up master plans when I was 21 and learned that real life gets in the way
of all plans. Some of the best things (and a few of the worst) that have
happened in my life have been major diversions from any plans I might
have had.

Pretty bad, apparently.
I used to think I did a good job, but I've been told otherwise.
Cathie,

Nope, don't really
have a plan. I mean, I know what I want to be and where I want to live,
but that's just the basics. I don't have any major plans. Just go with
the flow!

Well...the second
part of the question is damn sure easier to answer than the first...I
damn sure did not plan on being in the same brain-dead job for 5 years...that
totally reeks of heinosity. As far as the first part of the question...well,
let me think...

Not really. I live
life day by day, I don't plan anything.

Basically, my master
plan consists of letting nature take its course. One of the benefits of
this Plan is that NOTHING HAS EVER HAPPENED that was not included in it.
Reba,

It depends on how
emotionally involved I am.
Jane,

That all depends
on how tempted I am to NOT have a straight face. . .my husband (then boyfriend)
kept cracking me up at my cousin's wedding. I did a moderately decent
job of keeping a straight face then.
Karen,

I
just kind of go day by day, season by season. Right now I am focusing
on getting my kids out of high school into college so they can start their
own lives. My husband and I are reclaiming our lives as a couple again.
Going out together and having fun during the weekends. I figure when the
boys are done with college, we can focus on retirement.
Janet,

I
think many things have happened. I don't have a master plan per say, but
when I started University, I plotted out which courses I needed to take
(when) in order to graduate on time. I entitled it, "My Life on a
Post-It-Note" (I kid you not), but my carefully planning has run
amuck and...well, I'm finishing my fifth and now looking (relunctantly)
towards a sixth year inside those hallowed halls.
Keri-Jade,

Well....a
kidney transplant was definitely NOT included in my life plan...but I
think I'm dealing pretty well with it now.
