Is there such a thing as a just war?
Only in the minds
of the warmongers.
Cindy,

No. War is barbaric.
Tam
Not in 50 words
or less. Personally, I favor "Just Assassinations" as a tool
of diplomacy.

I'm sure many who
go to war believe there is justice at stake. All I can say is at time
it is necessary to use force to stop the spread of violence and oppression.
I don't know if justice enters into it. The
current state of affairs is neither just or necessary.

No
Hoochie
According to Thomas
Aquinas there is. http://www.utm.edu/research/iep/j/justwar.htm
Laura,

No, because someone
does something unjust to start the war.

Yes. The battle
against Hitler would be one example.
Jane,

Warfare? Never.

This is a good
question but I don't know how to answer it. I'll look forward to seeing
what others say.

I'm not sure. Is
there any such thing as justification of flying passenger planes into
three buildings full of innocent people just trying to make a living and
then sitting back and saying "gee what a shame, wish it hadn't happened?"
Fisch,

Never, Ever.
Keri-Jade,

Yes. The war to
stop Hitler was a just war.
Cathie,

Novi, MI USA
no.....dont both
sides think they are fighting for the "just cause"
Cara,

Yes. WWII was a
just war because it saved the Jews from extermination. I think a war is
just if it is waged to prevent people from being slaughtered, even though
war is slaughter. You sometimes have to sacrifice lives to save others,
and I admire our service people who do just that, willingly.

There's
such a thing as a JUST war, I suppose, but not a GOOD war.
Karen,

Yes,
however, all other options must be thoroughly exhausted before war is
too take place. In this case, Iraq, all other options were not explored...and
there is no doubt we are going to war.
Of course, we are going to win...that is not the issue...the issue is
what damage all those nutjobs
with biological weapons will do to us...there is reason everybody, save
England, is against us...but,
as I talked with somebody else here, Bush is boxed into a corner (of his
own doing)...so, prepare for war, ready or not...
