What was the worst bodily injury you've ever suffered?

I fell on some glass when I was about five, leaving me with some vile scars on my legs and thighs. I've yet to break any bones, touch wood.

I fell down a flight of stairs once and got super banged up. I also got a huge gash on the top of my foot where your foot bends. It should have had stitches, but didn't and I could barely walk for 2-3
weeks. That is the extent of my injuries.

When I was young I had epilepsy and during a seizure once, I fell and broke my collar-bone and got various cuts and bruises. You know why? Because I had gone to a hospital because I knew I was going to have a seizure and the idiot ER staff put me in an examining room, on a gurney, then left me there alone for 30 minutes. I had a seizure and fell off the gurney into a table. Thank
goodness hospitals are 'smarter' these days.

Can't remember any major instant injuries. I've had a few cuts here and there that needed to be stitched up, but no broken bones or anything yet.

Other than transplant surgery...I think the worst injury I've ever suffered was when I was about 12 years old and I tried getting my horse to jump the gate of the corral because I was too lazy to dismount and open it myself. I took the horse to the other end and started him on a hard gallop up
to the gate. As soon as we got to the gate, the horse stopped dead. I
didn't. I flew over her head and smashed face first into the fence. I broke my nose, knocked out a tooth and had abrasions all over my face. I still have a scar on my eyelid from that stupid misjudgment!

Probably the time I fell going down two steps at my house. I sprained my ankle so badly that I had to use a cane to walk for about a week. I'm pretty fortunate.

A broken foot. It was inconvenient, but not really all that serious.

I hit my 2nd toe one day at a restaurant(was wearing sandals), and it hurt. That night I was in such pain, I took 3 Advils. IT was the MOST excruciating pain I have ever known. I couldn't sleep the pain was so bad. My husband said I probably broke it, but no sense in going to the ER, because there is nothing they can do for a broken toe! (how about some morphine!!!!). I could not walk right for 2 weeks. I limped around barely able to walk. I have never felt pain like that, and hope to never again. (and next time, I would go the the hospital).

i broke my nose and got a concussion when i fell from the top of a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was two days before thanksgiving and my face was all messed up. I missed work the next day because I couldn't even walk. A few weeks later when my nose was almost healed, a girl punched me
in the face and broke it again. So I guess sometime BAD things can happen because of all
the alchohol. who knew?

I've been quite fortunate. The worst injuries I've had have been sprained ankles or torn muscles, both of which are painful but not serious.

I put my hand into a meat slicer while it was in the process of slicing tomatoes. It was automatic and had a safety on it, but when one of the tomatoes fell, I impulsively grabbed for it so the slices would not be uneven. Great slices; ugly trauma to the hand. The tip of my thumb hung by a
thread, but they were able to replace it. Not so lucky with a small chunk of my index finger. Ouch.

I don't really know. I had chicken pox when I was a week or two old. I doubt that counts as an injury, but it's probably the thing that took me the closest to death's door. I've had a couple nasty gashes, surgery for endometriosis, and I don't know what else. I had my wisdom teeth removed. Does it count as an injury when it's for medical purposes? *shrug* I've never had a broken bone. My injuries have seemed mild next to other people's.

I was hit by a car and broke both bones in my leg. That sucked.

That's a hard one. I've had lots of injuries, but none that required a cast or major stitches. And by worst, does that mean most disgusting or most painful? I've broken most of my toes, but one
was really bad and sticking straight skyward...that was pretty gross. I've broken several ribs and cracked a kneecap...that hurt! Recently I twisted a fingernail that had an acrylic tip on it and it took most of my real nail off...still recovering from that one! I was attacked and bitten by a German Shepherd when I was little, that was more traumatizing than painful. I could go on forever so that's enough!

I cut my wrist once while cutting a watermelon. I was 8. Other kids would ask me if I tried to commit suicide. Like I had tons of problems at age 8. Pa-lease! It blends in with my skin now but was more pink when I was little. It's about an inch long and ugly as sin. But I've never broken a bone (knock on wood) and no other injuries 'cept paper cuts and usual scrapes and bruises.

When I cut my tendon on my finger carving a pumpkin on Halloween. Two surgeries later and I severed the tendon again. So now my pinkie doesn't bend. The most expensive pumpkin I ever had.

Laying aside surgery which I guess is not really an injury, I guess it would have been the severe bruising across my chest following an accident on I-81. The seatbelt certainly saved my life, but it turned me black and blue and I felt like I was having a heart attack.

I shattered my left femur in a car accident six years ago. I was in the hospital for ten days. My femur is held together with a steel plate and fourteen pins. The surgeon did a bone graft from my hip to encourage the femur to grow and fill in the gap. He uses my x-rays as one of his teaching tools.

Luckily, I've been fortunate enough to have avoided serious injury. I think the worst thing that has
happened to me is I had about a 6" (long) gash on my chest, all the way to the ribs. It was pretty
gruesome, but in reality it wasn't a very serious injury. 36 stitches (24 inside, 12 outside) and it
was all healed up in no time. (although, to this day, the scar has no feeling in it.)

I broke an arm in high school.

I have been very fortunate. I have never had any broken bones or surgeries. (Knock on wood). Having kidney stones is the worst pain I have experienced. Wait a minute. I did crack my head open on a brick wall when I was a kid. Lots of blood, tetanus shot and butterfly stitches to keep the wound closed.
