Would you rather buy a car from a large corporation or your neighbor?

A large corp. I could complain to them better than with a neighbor if there was anything wrong.

A large corporation.

A neighbor.

Unless my neighbor happens to be a car dealer, I'd rather buy a car from a large corporation, so that I got the appropriate warranties and had recourse if there were problems.

Jane, 63
West Linn, OR USA

A large corporation. It's much easier to fight them if there is a problem.

I'd rather buy from whoever was giving me the better deal. They say don't trust used car salesmen, right? Well, my neighbor is selling a used car and should therefore be considered a used car salesman. At least, while he's/she's selling the car.

Large corporation.

I'd rather buy a new car. At least it would have a warrantee. So if my neighbor can sell me a new car.

Janet, 44
E. Brunswick, NJ USA

Neither. We do not need any more cars. But if I had to pick between my obsessively-mowing
neighbors and a corporation that sold a lot of cars and was experienced at it, I'd have to go with the corporation. I suppose it depends on whether it was the same type of car or not, too. And condition and whatnot.
