All sports have a small element of danger but a few are just plain dangerous. Which sport causes you to ask "Aren't they afraid they'll --------?"

Boxing. I think it is so stupid that grown people will stand there and beat the crap out of each other for sport. And then they wonder why they can't function right later on in life.

Any kind of auto racing - NASCAR, Indy, drag racing - makes me wonder.

Boxing... don't they realize they are making themselves stupid?

I prefer not to think about any form of violence.

Extreme mountain skateboarding seems pretty harsh to me!

The extreme sports that are so popular right now do not strike me as sports so much as thrill-seeking. There is a difference. However, most sports do involve some kind of risk, even if precautions are taken. Look at Christopher Reeve who suffered injury on horseback. You just never know.

Chainsaw relay races. I've seen too many hand-offs (no pun intended) go horribly wrong.

I am occasionally worrried about auto racing. . .not because I think it's much more dangerous than other sports, but because my husband actually does it and I always sit in the stands checking for the quickest way to get to him if he should get hurt. Not that I don't trust him to do well--I just care about him.
