On a scale of 1 through 10, one being zero, what is your level of tolerance for pain?

Usually about 3. I'm such a wimp.

probably about 4. lol

Pretty low -- maybe a 3.

In theory I am a wuss. I will go to great lengths to avoid pain. However, when faced with pain, I seem to be able to take on quite a bit. So I'd say about an 8. (But only if necessary.)

I can usually tolerate between a 7 and 8 before I start complaining loudly or looking for relief. I remember after once after surgery the nurses taking care of me couldn't believe that I wouldn't take any more demerol ... I wanted to be coherant during visiting hours. They bugged me so
much about it that I finally took some Tylenol just to shut them up. On the other hand, I can't STAND to see someone else in pain... it freaks me out.

Since my surgery and everything I've endured during recovery, I'd have to say that my pain threshold is about a 9 or 10. I'm pretty tough! :)

Tam

Dealing with pain for years I would say an 8.

I really have no idea, because I don't know what other people are feeling when they have pain. Maybe it's a 5. I do fine at the dentist's office and I had my first baby by natural childbirth.

One being zero? I can't tolerate the pain from the headache 1=0 gives me.

I don't mind pain much. I've broken some bones, been beat up a bunch of times, no problem. I don't like burns, though. I've got one right now. burns really get to me because I know they're going to blister. And you can't really make up a very cool story about a little burn.

I think it depends on the KIND of pain... physical pain, I'd say I'm a 7 or 8... When my whole body
hurts and I ache from having the flu or something like that, I'm only a 3 or 4 (I'm a big baby when I'm sick... I hate it). Emotional pain is another beast altogether and I can't really judge that as it depends on the emotional weight I had on whatever caused me the pain.

Probably about a six or seven. Childbirth kind of raises the level.

Judy, 62

I say about an 7 or 8. I gave birth to a over a 10 pound baby au natural and passed a rather large kidney stones and have endured passing several other broken up stones. But I do not handle blood well. It makes me quite queasy.

I think I have a fairly high tolerance for mild to moderate pain, confirmed by comments of various doctors, but since I've never had major surgery or broken bones, I don't know how I would deal with really severe pain.

Jane, 63
West Linn. OR USA

About a 5.

Ryan , 29
Riedlingen GERMANY

I have a high awareness of pain, but I'm able to remain civil in spite of it.

Jill, 61
Saylorsburg, PA USA

I think I have a higher than average tolerance for pain. I'd put it at 6 or 7.

Felicia, 37
Lowell,. MA USA

Melodi, 19
Gahanna, OH USA

I'd have to say 6.

Reba, 57
Gaithersburg, MD USA

I have "stubbing" my toes and bagging my shins for years where I am even made fun of in my family. I'd say it was fairly high (maybe a 7) considering the daily run-ins I have with the guest bed!

Stephanie, 27
TX USA

Somewhere arround a five.
