When
do the ends justify the means? The only time I can think of is the crucifixion and
suffering of Jesus Christ. ("Not a sermon, just a thought")

When do the ends justify the means? Only a
megalomaniac can explain in fifty words or less.

Rarely.

I thought we answered this question already,
but I checked the list and it didn't come up. This is a tough question. Off the top of my
head, I'd have to say that the ends justifies the means when the process doesn't matter.

When the ends are more important
than the means? I have no idea.

When they do.

Hmmmm . . . In a black and white world of
pure justice, never. In the real, practical world I suspect sometimes. Can I describe the
conditions under which this might be the case. No.
Felicia, 36

USA
Almost never. One good example of when it
does happened on 9/11 when some heroes took down a plane of innocent people to save
hundreds more.
Judy
they dont. the means must always be
justifiable unto themselves.

Oh, I don't know :P

Hmmm. Good question. I think if it is
something worthwhile, then the ends always justify the means.

When do the ends justify the means?
Tough question... I think that applies to
all aspects of life... work hard, play hard, you are reward in kind. Lie, cheat, steal,
you are punished in kind. I don't think it's really a matter of when, it's more a matter
of "to what degree".
Doug2, 29
Overland Park, KS USA
Nothing. Why would anyone owe me anything? I
don't feel like there's some great debt that needs to be paid...any mistakes that were
made were a result of my own decision, any choices I've had were completely mine, and any
mistreatment of my ancestors is undoubtedly someone else's ancestors fault but since they
are all dead now anyway, it doesn't matter. Life is too short and too precious for me to
sit around being bitter at the world for the bad things that have happened. I'd rather
just think about the good things I can do and not focus on what cannot be replaced.

really important.
