Do your friends tend to be older or younger than you?

All of my friends are both either older or younger. There are an equal amount on either side.

Christopher, 28
San Mateo, CA USA

What friends? Everyone has moved or passed away. My friends now are daughters & daughter in laws. Bummer.

Laney
TX USA

My friends are not age diverse at all. I'd say they are all + or - 5 years or so from my own age.

Felicia, 36
Lowell, MA USA

Most of our friends are close to the same age we are, some are a few years younger, but not much.

Judy, 62
Easton, KS USA

I have friends of all ages...I couldn't really say the majority are older or younger.

Tam

Older. If you get much younger than me, you're a teenager and that generally means you flat out annoy me.

Firelady, 24
Frisco, TX USA

I have few friends that are my age (or within a year or two). Most are either older or younger. A fairly even mix of both, actually.

Doug2, 29
Overland Park, KS USA

I have both older and younger friends.

Jane, 62
West Linn, OR USA

In the last few years, I have been attracted to folks that are older than me or my same age. This is
something new for me as I have always liked younger people best.

Reba, 57
Gaithersburg, MD USA

I would have to say that most of my friends are younger or my age. I have a few that are older, but I seem to navigate toward the younger...I don't know why.

Tracy, 24
Ocean City, NJ USA

I think its probably a mix, maybe slightly more are older.

Cara, 18
Valparaiso

Older, but only by a year or two.

Em, 16
Harrisburg, PA USA

When I was in school, they tended to be younger because I was one of the oldest people in my class (I fell ten days short of being in the next grade up). And because younger people were more enthusiastic about getting to know me, I guess. And I still have a lot of friends who are younger than I am; I even have one good friend who's still in high school. But these days I mostly hang out with my husband's friends, who tend to be a decade or more older than I am. I'm pretty sure most of them wouldn't hang out with me if I weren't married to their friend. . .but what are you gonna do?

Karen, 22
Ames, IA USA

It truly varies. I have friends much younger, much older and the same age.

Fisch, 47
Preston, CT USA

My friends range in age from 23 to 88.

Jill, 61
Saylorsburg, PA USA

My closest friends are my age, but have have close friends who are twice my age and some that are in their mid-twenties.

Laura, 37
Lowell, MA USA

A combination of both.

Ryan, 29
Morton, IL USA

Usually older by about 3-7 years or thereabouts. I'm almost always the baby of the group.

Triana, 29
Austin, TX USA

Most of my friends tend to be older than me.

Janet, 44
E. Brunswick, NJ USA

They tend to be older than me.

Melodi, 19
Gahanna, OH USA

Since I'm in college, I regularly interact with people of all ages. I have few friends who are younger, as there is a big difference between the classes once you become a junior in college. I have many friends who are older, though, just from meeting them in clubs, at social events, art houses, and so on.

Cancer, 20
NYC, NY USA

most of my friends are older than me because they are mostly my husband's friends and he is 6 years older than me.

Diana, 22
Joplin, MO USA

Usually older. People tend to think I'm a few years older than I am because my closest friends tend to be a year or two ahead of me. Now that I'm not part of the freshman class anymore, I'm getting a lot of younger friends, which is also quite cool.

Hikaru, 19
